Throttle Cable Kit, Universal for Dune Buggy & VW, 15 Ft, Compatible with Dune Buggy

I replaced the original wire throttle with this twisted wire cable. It is much more flexible than the old wire. I had a choice of ends so I cut the un-needed end off and fed it from the foot pedal to the engine end and learn this from me. The new cable is 15 ft long and I pushed it through to the end however....it curled up and touched the battery terminal at the starter and melted it into two. I could have started a fire! Next time, either have the ability to be at the end and feed it through the "dog house" tube by hand or disconnect the battery. There was more than enough left and I followed the instructions and now have a very workable throttle! Decent quality and it works smoothly!

Make sure you also order some Teflon lined 5mm bicycle brake cable housing. If not, you’ll have cable binding issues.

This looks to be the same gauge as the stock cable. Also, the manufacturer's packaging does not mention heavy duty. However, it is a throttle cable, and it did fit my VW. It's extra long, so there's no worry about having a cable that's too short.

Got this for my Baja bug. After modifying the rear end of the car, I couldn't find any stock cables that would reach. The 15 foot was too long, but can be cut to size with wire cutters. The cable also seemed better quality than stock. On top of all that, it was cheaper too! I'll be ordering more for spares.

Exactly what I needed to connect my roller pedal to the dual carb linkage on my Baja. There's a dogleg hook on one end and a standard hook on the other, plus a fitting to attach bare cable to the carb linkage. I cut the dogleg end off, fed the cable through, hooked it to the pedal, and used to supplied fitting for the carb linnkage. No issues.
