Product Description Eisuke Akamine was a direct student of Taira Shinken and as well his senior student. He was the second President of "Ryu Kyu Kobudo Hozon Shinkokai" until his passing. Like his teacher Taira he was also interested in preserving the ancient art of Kobudo for future generations. In this DVD, which was shot in the 1960s by Mr. Taiju Lee you will see Akamine Sensei performing many of these katas he learnt from Taira Sensei directly. There is also a short interview with Mr. Lee about his training with Akamine Sensei and then he does a demonstrationof the forms he learnt from Master Akamine. 25 minutes Review "See footage of a direct student of Taira Shinken doing kata exactly as Taira Sensei intended them to be." -- Fightingspirit.com"This is a priceless view into the History of Okinawan Kodudo!" -- Risingsunproductions.net Review: BLF Review - Although I really enjoyed seeing the old video of Akamine Sensei performing kata and truly documents the history of his organization I thought the production in particular the interview was not that great. Mr. Lee truly had a vision when he filmed this in the 60's but I wish he had of said which kobudo kata Akamine taught him instead of which weapons he was taught.
