Yu-Gi-Oh!!
I loved Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid, but the game has changed a lot. I decided to purchase this before buying more cards cuz I need to relearn how to play. You get to play the battles from the anime from both sides, and you unlock card packs to build your own deck.I personally love this game because it's pure nostalgia. I would recommend to just dive into the campaign because the game will teach you how to play. I went through the tutorials first, but I found that a bit exhausting. As other reviews have mentioned, you only get summoning animations for some monsters (I've only seen Blue Eyes and Dark Magician so far), but I honestly don't mind it much cuz I just want to make my move! LolOverall, it's a great game for any fan.

Needs more game modes?
It's hard for me to complain, I've been wanting a yugioh game on a nintendo console for a while now with new updated rule sets that included pendulum, XYZ's and link summoning. I've followed this card game since it first release in the States.Story wise, I have no idea what is going on. If you want animations like in the show, then as others have said, only a few monsters have animations. The animations are really just key monsters from certain duelists, not even special cards like harpies feather or magical cylinders. So you'll only see like an intro for dark magician or blue eyes. Don't expect to see a fight animation for monsters, and special entrances don't exist for most monsters in this game. This doesn't bother me since I just like throwing cards down, I actually wish I knew how to turn off the animations to be honest. The game is a huge grind fest. Playing with friends didn't yield duel points to unlock cards. I don't like the unlock system in this game. I would have preferred they kept the unlock to picking actual card packs and knowing what was in the card packs. When you get to the pendulum summoning arc of the game, you have 6 characters to get packs from, and each character has at least 3 archetypes. You eventually realize you'll need the internet to see which duelist has what cards and then dump all your duel points into them.I think the big problem here is the custom rules though. Game needs to allow some flexibility to allow for funny game modes with friends, but that's just me though. Overall, I think it's still the same solid game even with all it's weird board summon control stuff that goes on.

My childhood
Surprised I'm seeing so many mixed reviews on this one. I used to be super into Yu-Gi-Oh back when I was a kid, stopped just after the GX era. This is bringing me right back to that. Story, it's basically all the important duels from each series of Yu-Gi-Oh from the original to the newest series, Vrains. Now I know nothing about anything past GX, you could even say I was against any of the new rules, but the game does a great job of teaching you the new things if you need to learn, and I actually don't mind them here. There's tons of cards, and there's enough duels to keep you busy for a long time. Not only can you play all the duels, but you can also play them "in reverse", or as the other characters, so each one is more like two.

Amazing game for TCG fans!
I thoroughly enjoyed the original LotD, so when I found it was getting an overhaul with the updated rules, on the Switch, I was ecstatic! I’ve been plugging countless hours into this game since I’ve gotten it. I have a deep respect for the developers managing to make sense of this card game — I had no idea how to play it in real life before I played the original LotD, and likewise, this new version has taught me the new ruleset! (If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play, this game will teach you!)
