Great product.
Great design. Came with all the parts needed. Very easy to install and use. Delivers the zap needed and keeps my dog within the fenced area. My dog doesn’t climb my large gate anymore.

Easy, works great!
I have one of these on an eight foot gate and also on a sixteen foot gate. Works for both and easy to use.

Convenient, Versatile Size, & Good Tension
I usually just attach a handle to the electric wire for gates, but decided to try a spring model instead this time since it would be in a spot that could use a sharper look. While connecting a handle to the wire is cheap, it can require some occasional tweaking to keep the tension right -- it can sag and make contact with grass/posts, grounding the wire, or be too taught and difficult to open. This Spring Gate Kit is a winner when it comes to alleviating those issues and it looks better too. Additionally, it can handle a good array of widths with just the one product. One reason I didn't give it a 5* star rating is the price. If it were less expensive than the nearly $20 price tag, I'd replace every opening on the ranch with these -- they really do work well and Zareba is a trusted brand -- but "the best rancher is the one who loses money the slowest" and we're trying to be the best. ;) As it stands, I'll have to just enjoy the one I have for the time being. My only other qualm is with the hook that attaches to the t-post. The metal is cheap & it warps/bends easily, meaning the screw won't stay tight. A fix is pretty simple, but it would be nice if the small details were done right.

Good
Good quality, very well made and easy to install and use. When I went through the gate my horse flicked his long tail and caught it in the spring. It is no longer a tight coil. After retrieving it from the far corner of the pasture and cutting the stretched gate down to size it still functions well but I lost the convenience of the tight spring storage. I will buy another because I don't think my horse will do that again and it really helped to be able to drop handle and not have to worry about the loose wire shorting the rest of the fence out or tangling up. I think it was a fluke accident.

I own several of these
I do not use these as perimeter gates, but in between pastures and on temporary fences for the horses. i put the first ones up 11 years ago and they are still working very well. On the pasture I do not want the dogs to go in to, I placed one low to the ground below the one for the horses. The dogs respect it!

Good for smaller gates, too!
Good for smaller gates, too! We bought 4 of these. 2 for 5ft foot gates and 2 for 16ft gates. I was worried about the possibility of these sagging on the 5ft gates because we have them low enough to keep the dogs from going under the fence/gate...but they don't sag! The one on the 5ft gate in the dog pen has been on for several months already and still holding up like new.
