Buyer Beware!
Just have some news to pass along about a product that you need to be aware of.... do not buy the Rand McNally Overdryve 7 with GPS booster. My unit just died and Rand McNally claims it was purchased through an unauthorized dealer and will not honor the warranty. It was purchased through Amazon. Amazon is letting me return the unit for a refund. Hope no one else runs into this issue.....

This product angers me
First of all, after millions of miles of driving and 30 years of flying airliners, I know my way around GPS systems and what navigation needs are while traveling. You can NOT click the map in planning mode. to make either a starting point, nor an ending point. You can NOT edit or move a starting or ending waypoint, so you'll have to just delete the whole route and start over. You can accomplish similar tasks in the GPS mode, but then you can't then save the route... Which means you'll need an address and the time to type all that unnecessary information in. The product SHOULD SUPPORT FULL MAP SELECTION for ease of route programing. You'll need to toggle back and forth between the browser or have a second device running even if it's just your little black book full of addresses. Having the option to use addresses, or Lat-Longs is fine, but not supporting point and click from the map in any mode, especially in an automotive/RV navigation device is a deal killer. There are a lot of functions that just make this unit stupid, like emoticons and messaging. Seriously?...FOCUS on making a solid, easily programable GPS and the rest will follow. Adding in fluff when you haven't worked out the basics of a good nav platform, just shows you've never solved the original issue. PEOPLE NEED A GPS that can be programed while moving. Overdryve offers that. It needs to be easily scalable and intuitive. Overdryve fails here. Tolls and vehicle specifics need to be programable. The Overdryve 7RV offers some of these features, but they've missed several of the most important needs, like easy route entry, by a long shot. Non standard iconology adds to the misery. Disappointed enough that the unit is being returned. Maybe the programers should at least have driver's licenses before they attempt to engineer a product used for roadway navigation.

The maps are very poor and they neither respond or fix identified issues
I have a large RV and rely on good, safe routing. I've discovered many errors in maps where you get very strange routing. Most of these errors have been traced to on/off ramp errors. So the s/w routes you around the 'errored' ramp on some much smaller, longer road.I've reported several of these and a year later they have neither responded to the issue or fixed the issues.Buyer beware.

More than advertised
I have used it traveling cross country for the last couple of months. I am very happy with it. There are settings to prevent U-turns, use of small roads, & dirt roads. (Which was the major complaints i have seen on other reviews.)The interface could be better, but once i learned, i improved my speed in use.The access to parking & travel centers along route has been very useful. The gas prices along route has been useful.

Total waste of time and money
Complete waste of money, missed the return window by a couple days. Did a 3500 mile round trip with this and constantly had to used my phone gps along with this useless thing. Live updates and data doesn’t work at all unless you have wifi in your car, what a joke. Dash camera crashes every 20 minutes the so called hill climb alerts dont exist alerts you of turns after you passed them. Tablet constantly falls off the useless magnetic mount and the list goes on.Dont waste your money

Ineffective and Inefficient
The product is very slow to provide data and updates. We are unable to connect it to our Apple products. It's a big disappointment. We would like to get our money refunded!

Just an overpriced tablet
This device is not reliable at all. GPS freezes up all of the time. Battery time is very low, and the provided usb charging cable does not do the job. When pulling a 14K lb RV, you rely upon your GPS to keep you on the road, and out of bad situations. With this product locking up all of the time, it is unreliable.

Seems ok, will need more time to evaluate.
I basically like the unit, but still getting used to it. I only travel about every 6 months or so, thus the need for more evaluation time.
