The MyDMX Buddy is a great entry level dmx controller. I can not recommend it enough. The software behind it is some of the best I've ever used. I've had mine for almost two years now and never have had a problem with it. I've used it as a main lighting adapter for multiple theatrical shows on stage and as a stand-alone device for weddings and other events. American DJ customer support is always very helpful with any problems I have had. I have used the software on both Windows and Mac and both work extremely well and are very stable. On only one occasion did the program crash. You start with 255 channels I believe which I've only come close to filling up once. Otherwise, I never have more than 150 or so channels. I usually have many many scenes and I must say that the software handles it so very well. It gets a five star raring from me.

I ordered this to try and see if it works as the say, since no of the music stores around here will not be caring it until Mid March.I also ordered it because my old Chauvet Obey10 only supports 8 intelligent lights and I have out grown it. Since this little device lets you add more than 8 lights. I hooked them up as directed and all like work light a charm.Works on windows 7 and windows 8, & 8.1.And the setup was so much easier that the Obey 10Awesome entry level DMX solutionI would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn DMX.PROs: Easy to setup, Plug and Play, Small enough the it fits in pocket.CONs: NONE

It definitely does the job for a starter system. However adj technical support is less than useful in any respects. If you have any issues you are on your own. 🤷‍♂️

I don't normally ever do reviews , but if you already know the basic on Dmx lighting: how address your lights and setup the channels on your lights , it only take a few seconds to dial your lights into the software and begin!! Once connected it take some time getting use to setting up a scene. Here a tip.... Setting up one scene all the magic is in the second box to the right.... You add a new drop down box to create a new movement within your scene. Basically as you used the second box to the right every time you add a new row of command your basically adding new command to your show!! The more rows you add on the second box the longer your show is!! The first box doesn't do anything really. Make sure you watch a few YouTube videos . Once you get the hang of making a scene!! You can connect tons of different lights to one scene and you can do so many things!! Best part about dmx buddy is the price!! Buy on Amazon!! Don't like it , return it!! If you don't like dmx buddy, that probably means you don't know how to use the program properly . I like it!! Only thing kind of buggy on the stand alone option, doesn't let me save over easy. Overall a good product.

The product is outdated , ADJ has lacked with upgrading its software. The interface has an older chip which doesn't accept the 2.1 upgrade on adj website, I had to contact adj and have them forward a link to download the functioning program. Once downloaded the product did not work, checking my maintenance tool to ensure Dmx out didnt work. The affiliate company dmxsoft offered to send me the upgraded chip to install myself ,but i had enough with trying to figure it out, and returned the item.

I love programming with this device and software. Being able to make lighting fixtures and controls that work is amazing.I use a touch screen to make lighting scene changes quickly and easy without a mouse

Good entry level dongle, good free software, need ADJ subscription to make the program, dongle work with your lights.

I'm a Worship Pastor, and I very nearly used this tiny thing to run our whole sanctuary. I would have, except I loved it so much that I bought it's big brother, the MyDMX 2.1, for our main sanctuary and I use this little one for our Chapel. Great interface, great for use by volunteers, great automation.The main downside: It's meant for DJs, so it's really hard to make changes on the fly. You can smoothly change between preprogrammed scenes, but it would be very difficult to make live adjustments. For example, following a speaker with a mobile spotlight is nearly impossible (if you get creative, it's more like highly impractical).But for our purposes, it's perfect, and didn't take too long to learn.
