Conversation starter with family and removed the guilt from being on the phone at home
Love it. Very entertaining and a way to be off my phone yet in the presence of my family in case they need me, I can interact with them more easily rather than annoyed or irritated if interrupted when I’m on my phone .trying to be more intentional with my time.

Better than Trivial Pursuit!
excellent set of brain engagers by Nancy Linde. The book is fun and not just for seniors... but with seniors there is also the answer section. Where? But of course in the back of the book if you get stumped. The only part that is not so great is having to check off or write the answer or selection in the book... especially if you want someone else to take a stab at some of them. There are ways around it as in using a pad...With over 400 pages it is voluminous but each area has an easy to read intro and instructions. Each section is full of fun and engaging puzzle, trivia & word games. E.G. in one minute how many of the ten commandments can you list? There are some sections that maybe stumpers and you may need to brush up on your "whatits" and "whoozies". If you can't name the seven deadly sins in 30 seconds (p.s. if you like wine there is one called seven Zins and they are on the bottle) or name the type of critter this is I.e. Pepe Le Pew then this book should be a fun book for you as it is sure to test your long term memory, working memory, processing speed and executive functioning.I have to get back to the Odd Man Out Section; Hoover, Reagan, Truman, Eisenhower while noting which one is the odd man out and why.

Fun and Challenging!
This brain teaser book is such a great find! It's packed with a wide variety of puzzles - from logic problems and riddles to word games and number challenges. Some were quick and fun, while others really made me stop and think.I love that it's not just mindless entertainment - it's actually helping me stay sharp and think more creatively. The layout is clean and easy to follow, and there is good balance between difficulty levels. If you enjoy a good challenge and like to keep your brain active, this book is a winner!

A mixed bag of fun challenges + ridiculously outdated trivia
We highly recommend half of this book. It's full of challenges that are accessible by almost anyone, and there's a lot of variety. For instance, you might be given two different word definitions & have to name a homonym set that fits. Or you might be tasked with listing 26 different color names, one for each letter of the alphabet. Or come up with a list of words that begin with the prefix "ant-" based on various clues. We find these types of puzzles both challenging & genuinely fun. And for most of them, they're the types of challenges that you can read aloud to a group--or to a significant other--to enjoyably while away a long road trip. But then there's the other half of the book. That's the half filled with some of the most useless trivia from long gone eras. You might be asked about a wealthy socialite from the 1920s, or a slightly famous murder trial that took place during the Great Depression. Occasionally there are questions from the 1990s or--even more rarely--from the 2000s. But these are few & far between. For the most part, you'll get a lot of questions that you're really only likely to know if you lived during the early-to-mid 20th century. In retrospect, the cover text is very revealing: the book claims these puzzles were designed to "keep your brain young." That makes sense if it was written with an an older audience in mind.Bottom line: if you were born in the 1940s and enjoy word puzzles & trivia, it's a no-brainer to buy this book--you'll probably enjoy every page. If you were born in the 1970s, you're going to struggle a lot but you'll still get a lot out of it. And if you were born in the 1990s or later: enjoy the word challenges, but prepare to skip many, many pages & roll your eyes a lot.
