Crazy!
Well I just got this and, this being the first video game I've bought in at least 10 years, am feeling my way into it. Stuck the disk in the CD drive and clicked "setup.exe" and it installed just fine on my Vista computer. I'm starting with the Inventor's Training Camp which is supposed to be the easiest part. So far I've gotten hung up a couple of times ... one trying to get a ball to land on four mouses' tails one after another ... crazy-making! ... but it seems you can quit the game, start a new game, and some times it shuffles the games so you get to play something that's more possible! I guess I'm just dense but I still can't figure out how to get all those mice to move in formation! .. and I tinkered with the screen where you can change the screen resolution and turn down the gol-darned "Professor's" voice (he's annoying) ... and whoa! I messed with something wrong, the screen went black, no way to play the game, I had to reboot the computer to bring it back up with light! But altogether tho' it can be crazy-MAKING it's kind of fun. Except I wish there was some way it would finally tell you the solution if you just can't figure one of the puzzles out!

Excellent Game
This game is an excellent buy. For those that like working their minds, this is a very challenging game once you get to the higher levels of game play. There are two games in this package. One is a training camp with 101 training experiments to get you used to the workings of all the gadgets. I went through those in about two days. The second is the original game and has 102 experiments in one lab and 103 in the other lab. Along the way there are some real brainteasers that will get you thinking about just what you need to do to complete the experiment. The way the game is played is that they give you part of an experiment set up for you and over in the parts bin you have other elements that need to be set up in the experiment in the proper manner in order to complete the experiment in the proper way. For example: They might give you part of an electrical circuit set up but you have to put the other pieces together in order to make a light come on or a fan blow and a flag raise and flutter in the wind. The challenges early on are fairly easy but watch out for some tricky ones around level 20. The really difficult ones start showing up around level 60 on up to 102. I have not completed the first lab yet. I am on experiment 80 so far. Once finished with that I will go on to the New Challenges lab with 103 more.I think the coolest part of the game is being able to make up your own experiments. That is hours of fun. Plus you can save the ones you make on your harddrive and share them with your friends who have the game. You can try to make mind boggling challenges for your friends to try and figure out or just make some really cool experiments using up to 50 objects per experiment. This game is well worth the money and it never gets old because you can invent something new everyday. It would be great for young minds to learn how differnt things work in electricity, mechanics, aeronautics and physics.

Does not work with Windows 7 or 8
Product description states that it is compatible with Windows 7. I've tried on 3 machines and all say, "error, menu.exe not present".

Fun but stuck if you are not good enough
The game is really fun and stimulating. But the problem is that when you cannot solve a level, then you can not skip it. You also get no hint. You are stuck there forever unless you can solve it. Although many games are designed this way. Why does that happen on the game you bought? Everyone may get stuck in a different way. The game is designed to assume that you are not qualified for challenging harder levels if you can not pass the current one. Education should not be in that way.

Exactly what I expected
I got this game as a gift for my gf's mom for Christmas. We ended up trying to do the puzzles together for about an hour. Very fun, especially for those that enjoy physics based puzzle games. We got stuck 1 or 2 places where we were trying to do what seemed right but things didn't seem to be working. Managed to jerry rig solutions though that would let us continue...Overall, highly recommend game!

Mom's Review
I bought this for my grandson who loved an earlier version of this game. I lost it when my computer crashed so I checked into purchasing it again. I cannot buy the earlier version so I bought this one in its place and he absolutely loves it. He really doesn't play the game but creates his own puzzles and loves the challanges they present. He is 8 years old and very creative within the game's limits. He loves to play it and does so a lot in his spare time. I highly recommend this game for a child because it teaches cause and effect and encourages deductive thinking. It is a brain puzzle game and engages imagination, deductive reasoning, geometry, electricity, encourages creativity, problem solving, and keeps his interest for long periods of time. Great game!!!!!
