Very easy to use, very helpful with working out snags that come up!
I used it to make pop up cards, had a lot of ideas to try and work out solutions and snags, as I am not an artist, I was pleased with my attempts. Anyone can use this book!

Great for older teens who need creative guidance
I bought this book as part of a "kit" I assembled for making greeting cards. Trying to encourage the 18 year old to start her own business. She hates to admit it, but she is highly intrigued by this book.

Some good ideas, lacking in templates to make projects
I bought it to use in my classroom but there’s really only instructions for making the cuts and folds which are not very complicated. There are no instructions or templates to make the finished products which makes it difficult to justify the cost of the book. I paid $10 for an online pop up workshop that was waaay more useful than this book.

Great history, theory and practice
Absolutely love this book! In this particular edition (ISBN 978-0-754-83465-6) measurements are given both in cm and inches. A history of pop-ups occupies about 30 pages of the book and offers many historical examples including some early movables of the 13th-16th cent. A unique info! As for the projects, I enjoy many of them, to name a few: projects with circular slit folds, the rocking horse, the magic quill, the SPINNING merry-go-round! What a treat!!!

Well Written, Beautiful Graphics!
Really fun book for any pop-up enthusiast! I like that it shows the basic steps that more complicated pop-up art is based on and I didn't expect the history portion which was really cool.

Excellent Instruction, Beautiful Designs, Huge Creativity Possible
I have the UK edition home from the library, which gives info for getting UK supplies. This book is by far the best pop-up book I have seen or own, and I definitely want my own copy. But if this is a US edition, edited for getting supplies in the US, I would like to know this. Authors, Publisher, can you answer this question?

Not what I was looking for.
This book has some positives, but too many negatives for me to give it a higher rating. Unfortunately, I waited too long to return it and I am now stuck with it. My main complaint is that it doesn't give clear directions for making the popups, and does not include templates, which are critical to get the cuts right. It leaves too much up to one's drawing ability. I have other popup books that include templates. I get beautiful results and then add my own touches. I will never use this book for anything other than looking at the pictures.
