Maxcatch Fly Fishing Line (Weight Forward, Floating) and Fly Line Combo with Backing Leader and Tippet (1F/2F/3F/4F/5F/6F/7F/8F/9F/10F)

Got the orange fly line, green backing, 6wt. Haven't had a chance to fish it yet, but quality looks very solid. Backing install was easy (5 mins). Fly line is just a coil and a major pain in the butt to detangle to install (30 mins untangle; 5 min install). If not for the super-annoying fly line packaging I would give this 6 stars easy. Hell, I'll buy it again in a heartbeat, but a spool for the fly line would be worth the extra cost in purchase price. Like the 3 included leaders, 1 tippet spool, and 2 loop connectors. My loop connectors were green with an orange fly line, which seems like an odd choice (why not match them?), but you can barely see the loop connectors anyway. Buying more now!

I've had several of these lines in several weights over the years and I'm really happy with it for the price. For 10 bucks you get just a normal old, 40 foot head, weight forward fly line in whatever color you would like. In a world for 80$+ highly specialized lines, this is sort of a breath of fresh air. Yes, it doesn't come with a spool, but that's actually easier to get onto the reel by hand if you don't have access to a machine. My line did not come with a loop on either end, but I was able to weld a loop with the shrink tube/heat gun method pretty well. Overall, if you're a beginner, you may not see the value in something this cheap or simple, but if you're a DIY guy, this line is a great resource.

Only complaint I had was the fly line wasn’t in a spool.

I haven't fished this long enough to comment on durability or long term performance, but out of the box this is the best low-to-mid-priced fly line I've ever used. It is highly controllable and double-hauls like a champ! It IS easy to get (very) tangled during spooling, but the result at this price is well worth it. I will buy again.

Good value

Getting this unraveled from the non-spooled packaging was something else. I felt like Clark Griswold untangling Christmas lights. Absolute worst packing experience ever.It is a good value and does cast well so I may buy it again if I’m feeling particularly masochistic.

I am just a beginner fly fisher. The backing seems good. The fly line does not have built in loops. Loops would make it easier to attach it to the backing and leader. The fly line did not come on a spool which led to a tangled mess when I tried to spool it on my reel and it took quite a bit of time to untangle it. The braided loops do not come with instructions but you can find videos of similar products online. The clear tube sleeve is not a shrink tube sleeve despite the description for the loop connectors (see description of 10 pack --> Loop to loop connection-- Simply slide fly line into center of braided loop connector and secure with small shrink tube sleeve.). I tried heating one and it melted. Use a drop of superglue at the fly line - braid connection and then slide the sleeve over it. Then gently squeeze the sleeve and line together.
