Eagle Creek Convertabrief

I travel every week and needed something that would carry my gadgets, a laptop or two, have space for a shaving kit and change of clothes yet still fit under the seat AND be my briefcase during the week. I have used this bag on 5 trips and carry it everyday to work. It is awesome. Remarkably lightweight to be so durable - you cannot tell I have drug it around, shoved under seats, kicked around and tossed about the car - it is very well made. It is nicely padded but not bulky. The first few trips I was nervous thinking it would never fit under the seat, but it fits perfectly AND leaves room for one foot, so I can shift it back and forth and stretch my legs. The ONLY thing that is not Totally Wonderful about this bag is the 'human-side' of the shoulder strap...it will slip off my shoulder pretty regularly, especially if I wear a nylon shirt or windbreaker - would be nice if it was less slippery. But the more I use this bag, the more I like it and the better it performs. Access to the various sections and compartments is excellent - I can find anything and rarely 'lose' anything, Having used a variety of backpacks and laptop bags over the last 25 years, I have to say this is far and away the most practical, well thought out under-seat overnight bag ever.Update: been a month or so, this bag goes under the seat 4 times a week, goes to work every day, gets way over-stuffed once a month and still looks brand new, no sign of wear. Zippers and strap are perfect. I'm feeling kind of creepy gushing about a bag, but I depend on it a lot and it is awesome.A years worth of use and abuse later, this bag still looks great, remains incredibly functional, has zero problems (the seams are perfect, the zippers are perfect, the strap is perfect) and gets me through every day. It is just barely scuffed because I kick it back and forth under the airplane seat so I can stretch out my legs. And while it isn't quite the most stylish bag out there, it is a thousand times better than being an adult with a student backpack.

Like many of the reviewers for the Eagle Creek Convertabrief, I shopped around for the perfect bag - something versatile, durable and of quality. After 6 months of use, I'm happy to say this product has met my expectations and then some! I originally purchased this as a work bag, something I could use daily to carry around a laptop, documents, some personal items like wallet and cell phone, but also other items like water bottles, my lunch, and extra shoes. I also wanted a bag that I could use for air travel; I had a trip to Europe coming up in the summer and wanted something that could carry what I needed for the long haul and was nice and compact (especially for International carry on standards). We just got back and I can now attest to how it performed for my purposes.The versatility is so exceptional. You can wear this as a back pack, as a messenger bag, and hand carry like a briefcase. I liked wearing it as a backpack to keep my hands free and then, when I boarded the plane, I could quickly remove and tuck away the straps to hold it as a briefcase. No slapping people in the face with the bag or wayward straps.It also has a panel so you can slip it over the luggage handle and it sits secure and flat on top of your wheeled luggage.Using it as my daily work bag, it's held up nicely and some of my coworkers have inquired about it since they've seen me wear it in different ways. The material on the outside is easy to clean and here in the PNW, rain is constant and I've never had anything get soaked. If I squint real good I could make out some slight fraying along some spots of the zippers, but nothing coming undone. One of the features of the bag that I really like is the rigid frame where the top and side grab handles are located. This design helps to keep the bag balanced when in hand, weight distributed with the laptop on one side and everything else on the other.This is my first EC bag, but my second purchase from them. I first picked up their Wristlet Wallet last fall. It fits everything I need (ID, cards, cash) plus my Passport, my cellphone, and even a chapstick and pen. For the trip, I also got the Pack It Starter Kit (folder and 2 packing cubes) and it was a breeze packing my clothing. I even used the small cube in the Convertabrief to carry a change of clothes should our return flights go awry. I've been very impressed with EC's quality that I don't think I'll shop any other brand when it comes to luggage. I'm currently looking at EC's Carry on luggage with wheels to pair with the Convertabrief since it falls under the "Personal Item" category for most airlines I use.

It looks like a nice piece, but its wayyyy bigger than the briefcase I bought from Eagle Creek decades ago that I finally need to replace.

Love the size and capacity of this every day carry bag. Ive used this bag for 3 day business trips without any issue. Could probably extend to 4-5 days depending on the nature of the meetings I'm attending. I use this as a top bag for extended trips.I recommend to anyone who loves to pack light.

Als ich die Tasche ausgepackt habe, dachte ich: 'Die ist aber klein'! Aber als ich meine Sachen reingepackt habe, war ich begeistert - was da alles reinpasst! Sie ist sehr leicht und sehr bequem auch auf dem Rücken zu tragen. Die Innentaschen sind sehr gut eingeteilt. Es passt sogar eine große Wasserflasche in die Fronttasche unter dem Tragegriff. Das größere Frontfach hat eine sehr gute Einteilung. Man kann hier alles sehr übersichtlich anordnen. Das Laptopfach und das Wäschefach sind ausreichend groß und durch die Möglichkeit des kompletten Aufklappens einfach zu erreichen. Die Tasche ist im vergleich zu meinem Trolley-Koffer mit Rollen viel leichter und nicht so sperrig. Deshalb werde ich künftig für Reisen von ein paar Tagen immer die Eagle Creek Convertabrief nehmen - dafür ist sie die perfekte Tasche.Negatives habe ich nicht zu berichten.

Zwar keine kleine aber dafür eine sehr vielseitige zuverlässige Tasche/Rucksack. Typisch eagle creek halt. Hat sich schon im täglichen Gebrauch und auf vielen Reisen bewährt.

Great overnight work bag. Expensive but worth it. Pockets galore....
