Great gift for college graduate.
Gave this as a gift for my daughter who recently graduated from college. What a great book! Excellent tips and now she has another resource other than mom.

The only guide a "new adult" will need!
I bought this book as a college graduation gift for our niece. I'm a huge fan of Real Simple and its practical advice and solutions, and I thought this book would be a great resource for her, as she strikes out on her own, without the help of Mom and Dad. I was impressed by what all was covered in the book, and that would be "everything!" How to negotiate a lease, how to interview for a job, how to dress, how to entertain - all things a young person living independently needs to know to live simply yet happily. But the advice in the book isn't just for the young - it provide a great "refresher course" on some topics those of us who have been adults for decades can use. And as with all things Real Simple, the book is written so engagingly that it's just fun to read. I highly recommend it!

Good, Look At Other Books As Well
It's good! The checklists seem like a waste of time, I don't know if I'll actually use them and sometimes they get extremely repetitive. If you're into that, though, there are a LOT of checklists. I very much like the practical sections (I literally took notes) on what to do when you're moving out and when/who to tip, what to wear and when, and what you should invest in or skimp on when buying household items and wearables. This book was helpful, and has a nice clean sense of (sort of?) humor. If you're looking for something truly laugh-out-loud funny, I would go for "Adulting" by Kelly Williams Brown (which also has a lot less checklists, if you're not so into that). Overall, I liked it a lot, but as a college student sometimes I wished they'd put more humor and less checklists. If it's a gift for your niece or other young lady who's moving out, go for it.

Great Idea for a College Grad Gift
I bought this book for my 22 year old daughter for her birthday, hoping it would not be taken the wrong way. She loves the book and stated it is filled with great tips and ideas. I wish someone would have bought it for me when I was her age.

This is the perfect gift for the teen moving out on their own
This is the perfect gift for the teen moving out on their own. All the stuff your mom does for you but is written out in easy instruction for you to do-it-yourself. Wish I would have had this when I went out on my own! If you have a 13, 14 or 15 year old, get this book and get them started on how to survive life and care for themselves and feel confident. You'll feel better about them being out there on their own in a few years!

Best book ever for young to us old folks
I purchased this for my great-niece that is graduating High school and going into the Army. I read thru it, oh my, I wish someone had given me a book like this when I graduated High School. Maybe they should offer a class in high school based on this book. So many life mistakes may not have happened. Thank you for such a great book. I'm ordering another book for my other niece that after 2 years of college has decided to join the Air Force. I even ordered one for my Kindle.

Decent but could be better
Decent but needs more U.K. specific content. Recommend for young girls.

Worth the read!
Very realistic and an easy read for anyone. As a sheltered child, I think this book was a great intro to the world as an independent adult.

They love them as do I
I bought 4 copies and gave them to my girls as they left home. They love them as do I. Full of interesting info we all can use.
