Excellent Read
Excellent Read. I first bought & listened to the audio book. I was so impressed that I also book this paperback version. Dr. Hall give so much information & explains many things that is going on in the body when we are exposed to different situations & the after-affects. If you are a person that likes to have choices, to be able to make informed decisions, and have more power & control over your own life & body...then this is a must read book.Dr. Hall explains how what we think & react to different situations affects our health & our body's ability to stay healthy. Why we make choices that do us harm. Why people choose to stay in hum-drum jobs instead of going for a promotion or a better job. So many explanations to list here. This was an eye-opening experience for me. I related in so many ways to what is presented in this book. This book is one of the pivoting points in my life. It is helping me make better decisions & choices. How to stay calm & in control in stressful situations. This is a book that I will refer back to time & time again.Thank you Dr. Hall for writing this book but especially for making the audio recording of this book. I probably would have never read it if I have not started listening to the audio book first.

Best audio I've ever heard!
I'm only on chapter three so far, but if the book ended here I'd still be happy with my purchase. I have a feeling this will be the best audio I've ever listened to in my life! I really don't understand the negative reviews or the reviews that state there are no solutions. Having a scientific explanation of what's going on is better than a solution because it helps you to understand why YOU do the things YOU do. We are all different and are responding to different things. Nick Hall is extremely knowledgeable and while his talk is geared more towards understanding mechanism- he does provide suggestions. I have already recommended this book to my friends and cab;t wait to finish reading- had to pause to write the review!

Good read, but still looking fir answers
There's great information and I enjoy listening to Dr hall...but, I don't think his book really, truly answers the question! Yes, there are good tips, but in the end I've been a bit let down by the book. If anyone knows of another motivational type book that helps answer why a person who knows what to do, has the hardest time doing it...I'd be grateful. It's a worthwhile read, though, for me, as I've said, it doesn't wholly or satisfactorily answer the question (or premise) of the book.

Highly insightful.
Very insightful. Every page had useful information and the book contained many real-life examples. Recommended for anyone who always asks "why do I do ..." or, better, keep it on hand when your friends and family ask you to help them figure out why THEY do whatever it is. This book will definitely help.

Nick Hall Is Knowledgable and Personable
I bought this book after hearing Dr. Hall speak in Orlando. He was engaging, as is his book. He admits to saving us the time/effort to read actual research, does become scientifically technical in a few spots, but interweaves the physiological and psychological masterfully. Enjoy!

good but too long
The author gives really good cognitive exercises, to get over stress, and some to heal disease,he really knows his stuff, but you can get lost with all of that, i think this book could be more to the point.but still, i recommend this book for someone who is interested in psychoimmunology, and how to heal from stress related illness.

Simply amazing
For so long I thought I might be lazy to not go after my dreams despite the fact that I'm constantly in motion busying myself. Dr. Hall lays out in his CDs the complexities that might have attributed to not fulfilling these goals, thus suddenly forcing me to confront the challenges he intelligently explains. I only wish I bought his CDs sooner.

Kinda reads like an advert for supplements...
Yeah... I did get through it but... seemed like I couldn't "do it" unless I was buying a bottle of pills to help me. Meh.
