This is a beautiful lamp and it puts out a good amount of light. However, the picture is not accurate. It shows two switches on the pole next to the reading lights. They don't exist. There is only one control...the foot switch.It has a slide dimmer to control the top light and a button switch to control the reading lights. However, mine does not cycle through as another reviewer stated (one light on at a time, then both on).The description on the seller's website (Lamps Plus) even says there are "On-off buttons on each side light." That's not true either. Again, one button for both reading lights that turns them both on or both off and nothing else.Also, having the only control for all the lights on the floor is inconvenient. The lamp is positioned behind two recliners and I would prefer the switches on the pole so I can reach them from the chair or standing.

After knocking over our previous lamp a few times while reaching up from a chair to turn it off, I decided to buy "nice" lamp. I looked through hundreds before settling on this one (after the sticker shock wore off). Opening the box upon arrival, I completely forgot about that price tag. As mentioned by others, portions of the lamp are quite larger than expected. Although the base is similar in width to most torchiere floor lamps, the pole and main glass shade are fairly wide. Combined, they make for a very sturdy floor lamp.The "Tortoise shell glass font" is a little misshapen, but not too noticeable. The two side lamps have one control that cycles through each variation (both off, lamp 1 on, lamp 2 on, both on). The dimmer is smooth with a good range of brightness. There are a couple quirks if you use certain LED bulbs and want a very low light setting. Initially, you will have start at a brighter setting and decrease it. As the bulb heats up, it can be lowered further. This is more of a bulb vs. dimmer issue, but good to know in advance.Needless to say, if you want a high quality lamp and can afford it, I highly recommend one the Kathy Ireland's.

I found this torchiere to be exactly the way it was described. It is a sturdy, well-weighted, beautiful torchiere. It was very well packaged and protected in styrofoam and plastic bags. The instructions were clear. I agree that screwing the pole parts together takes a little more patience and care. But with attention to what you are doing, it is not hard. It would be nice to have in the initial description information about the foot pedal used for lighting options. It is very intuitive once you see it. However, it may not be the option some are looking for. Once you plug it in, the electricity is going to the lamp. The slide on the foot pedal is for the top light, and it goes from off to dim to less dim, to finally full-on. The actually button you step on is to turn the two side lights on and off. They do not dim. This actually gives you so many options in amount of light. I love it. But it may take getting used to not having a switch closer to the bulbs on the tree pole. I hope others enjoy this light as much as I have in the week I have had it.

This lamp looks very nice in my living room. I don't have overhead lighting and it lights up the room very well. I assembled it on my own. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because there was a little confusion with the directions. Other than than, I've very happy with my purchase.

Love the brightness, sturdiness, and versatility of having only small lights lit or top light or all three.This lamp has a large footprint and the height dwarfed my other two lamps; this, works for me because it lives in my scrapbook room which does not have overhead lighting.

Really like the quality and over all look of the lamp. Just what I was looking for. I was, however, disappointed that the 2 small lights can only both be turned off and on together. I was hoping that they operated separately. I don't really like the control that doesn't work well as a floor control and instead sits on the table between our chairs. For just the 2 of us it's OK, but when I have company, I'll hide the ugly control. For such a great looking lamp, the electrical design needs improvement. But that's just me.

Very nice . Only a small chip on the bottom. Touch painted it to cover up the stop . I do like the floor switch .I put it on my In table to switch off and on .dimmer switch is nice on the top light . Do like that its heavy .

This Kathy Ireland Torchiere floor lamp is exactly what I was looking for, with the 2 smaller reading lights, which operate separately from the large torchiere. It seems very well built (especially considering it's made in China.) The bronze coloration really makes it look very expensive and classy. We were definitely not disappointed in this lamp and I've had nothing but excellent customer service with Lamps Plus in the past when I had to return something. Very efficient and competent organization with them has been my experience.
