I had gone back and forth whether I was going to buy this mat or a cheaper one. Prior to this purchase, I could not have imagined myself spending over $10 on a mouse pad much less what I paid for this one. ...but it was worth every penny. As is expected from Razer, the packaging was aesthetically cutting edge and exciting. Upon opening I found that the mat actually came with it's own canvas, zippered protective sleeve! I was very surprised and excited about this as I hadn't seen this as part of the description and I wondered how I'd go about transporting this since it's a hard mat and not something I could just roll up and go. The transport sleeve has hard protected sides to help prevent damage from bending or accidentally bumping a sharp corner. Considering this is a purchase I expect to continue to use for well over the next half decade, this was a huge plus. The quality of the mat itself was also fantastic. The rubber backing keeps it from sliding at all on my desk even though it tends to be a pretty slick surface. The hard surface of the mat keeps it cool and smooth to the touch compared to the neoprene pads of cubicle land. I'm thrilled that it doesn't have crazy designs all over it. Even the Razer logo is set off into the corner, a darker shade compared to the rest of the mat keeping it understated and classy.Since I went from the Microsoft Comfort Sculpt optical sensor 1000dpi wireless mouse sans mouse pad to a Logitech G700s laser sensor 8200dpi wireless mouse with mouse pad, I expected there to be a bit of a transition while I found exactly how I'd like to use it. Within 15 minutes, I had already become accustomed to it and didn't even realize it was there. It's so thin, it felt no different to my wrist. So spacious I couldn't imagine running off the edge (when coupled to a higher dpi mouse). This was a more difficult purchase for me as historically mouse pads are those soft, flexible things that are given away at trade shows as swag or custom purchased with a family self-portrait back in the late '90s or early '00s. They were small, tended to create more friction for the mouse and wrist, and loved to collect all the dust and grime that eventually accumulated in the pads on the underside of the mouse. Good riddance. If you're a precision user (ie. gaming, photo editing, etc) I highly recommend this mouse mat.

Excellent hard mat
This is a great hard mat from Razer. It's a large improvement over the Destructor 1. The original Destructor had a very strange shape with a curved top and sides, and two protrusions that made the bottom irregular. Basically, it was very hard to fit it onto anything besides the top of a very spacious desk, while having it in a comfortable position. I think that they had intended it to be for large curved motions in video games, but that was really unnecessary. The new design is a simple rectangle, which works just as well and is easier to put in place, while taking less real estate on your desk. Visually, they removed the name of the product from the surface of the pad (the first version had it written in the bottom left corner). I like this change as it makes the pad less busy.Performance-wise, I think this is also a step up from the first generation. The glide is a bit better, but still very slick. (For the record, my mouse has teflon feet, so I don't know how other mice would hold up to this. I assume the effect would be somewhat lessened without them). Personally, I very much like the slickness, because I hate feeling like I'm dragging my mouse against the grain of the pad, hence why I never use fabric pads. I assume only gamers would really be looking at this pad, so you know your mice better than I do. If you're considering changing to a hard mat, I think this would be a good first choice, although, if you are changing, you may want to consider whether or not to keep the same mouse as well. I changed mice when I switched to hard mats because my hand/arm motions became different, and I held my mouse differently to compensate. (I use more of a palm grip now than I did with my old mouse).Lastly, the carry case is a nice bonus. If you intend to travel with this pad, it's great to have, because you definitely don't want things rubbing against the pad a shortening the life of the surface.. It doesn't make it exceptionally larger or thicker than it needs to be, and you can use it as a quick place to put some papers that need to stay crisp. The inside of the case is a very noticeable bright green, so I wouldn't use it regularly to carry papers, but it's a good backup function.TL;DR: I like it a lot, would buy again. Good glide, good size/shape. carry case is a nice bonus.

Perfect for my needs
I play FPS games at lower sensitivity (around 700-100) and need some space to turn around. This pad gives me plenty of space, without taking up an excessive amount like some of the super jumbo pads. It fits perfectly on my desk, it's a nice square, and most importantly, it doesn't fatigue my wrist. I have mild carpal tunnel (too much FPS gaming in my youth). I can't use a wireless mouse because even the weight of the batteries fatigues my wrist quickly. So if the mouse surface has a little bit of drag or catch to it (like a cloth pad), I NOTICE... it hurts. I love this pad, smooth, mouse glides perfectly, very accurate tracking, and the mouse pad stays exactly where I put it on the desk. All in all, if something happened to mine, I would buy another one tomorrow without a second thought. This pad is exactly what I needed.UPDATE 8/28/2015Time to replace mine. it lasted ~2.5 years of daily use in gaming and graphics design. I'm perfectly happy with that amount of use, and I'm going to buy another one just like it.The texture in the middle of the pad is starting to wear down, increasing surface area and drag on the mouse. Tracking is still perfect on it, still a GREAT pad, but I need less drag on my wrist. STILL a 5 star product, still a happy customer coming back for my second one.

You get good speed and control
You get good speed and control, totally worth the price if you're serious about gaming. If you're more of a casual player, I would recommend something with a wristpad, on a fiber pad. The destructor 2 is not about comfort it can be cold and quite "grainy"

A bit expensive
Works really well with my DeathAdder mouse, but a bit expensive for what it is. Sober look - ok for work/office.

Best Mousepad Ever
Best mousepad ever. I have had one for months now, it does not get destroyed by my Razer DeathAdder and does not destroy my Razer DeathAdder's feet. Perfect tracking, very lightweight mousepad, and the rubber bottom makes sure it actually stays in place.

Works very well with Magic Mouse + Teflon feet. Has just the right amount of resistance. Likely would not work well without teflon feet, as it's a bit rough. Case seems excessive, would have just preferred the mat TBH.
