Note possible line level voltage differences from your receiver
Note to self: This is pro-grade equipment and voltage levels are sometimes different for Pro-grade equipment and consumer grade equipment. So even though I have a decent receiver (Pioneer elite vsx-21txh), the NE1000DSP isn't getting the voltage it expects and as a result, I have to bump the gain on the iNuke almost up all the way to get rockin' base. Unfortunately, the extra gain can cause extra noise. That said, the iNuke and a homemade sub is the way to go, but you might need and Art cleanbox or similar to bump up the voltage.

Great amp but beware of power-down BANG.
This amp is everything it's supposed to be. It's a tremendous value. It weighs next to nothing. It's loud when required, quiet when required, and stays cool doing it. There's only one thing I REALLY don't like: It makes a gawd-awful BANG on shut off. No noise on power-up but a huge thump on power down. I don't know if mine is unique but it's tough to ignore this. I fear for my tweeters. Other than that I have nothing but praise for the amplifier.

Spend a little more for a better quality amplifier.
I've been using Behringer products since the the early 2000s when I was a teenager with a band and no money. Most of their products have served me well....except for this. I've had this amp for 4 years. It's only been used occasionally and was never pushed hard at all. I went to turn it on the other day and it blew the internal fuse during the power up sequence. I replaced the internal fuse and it blew again immediately upon turning on the power switch. There is definitely an internal short. I replaced this with a Crown amplifier that wasn't much more than this amplifier. Unfortunately though I wasted $200 on this amplifier. I don't think I'll be buying anymore Behringer amplifiers.

Don't do what I did
The first problem that I had with the amplifier, is the noisy fan. It is loud and I replaced it with a quite one. The second problem is that when I press the power button to turn off the amp, it pops. So I contacted Behringer and they told me that I needed to return it for an exchange, because it was defective. Do you see the problem here? By replacing the fan, I voided my warranty. Don't you do that. Overall, I am pleased with the amp. Behringer is a good brand name. It is rack mountable and that works very well, also. Also, if you want to plug in more than one item to the input, you will need a switch (Fosmon A1602 3-Way Audio / Video RCA Switch Selector / Splitter Box & AV Patch Cable for Connecting 3 RCA Output Devices to Your TV) available from Amazon. They are available with more than three sets of inputs. It is audio plus video, but you do not need to use the video, you can use audio by itself. The lower rating is for the noisy fan. I have a small recording studio and everything is close to the mic. A noisy fan is a real problem. That Behringer knows this and does not correct it shows a lack of concern on their part. This is an ongoing complaint from a lot of purchasers. The product is good, but there is an obvious problem---the noisy fan. Behringer needs to correct the problem and compensate all of us for "fixin" their problem.

Great Amp
Great Amp, using it for home theater. I changed out the fan which was already quiet and now it is absolutly silent, easy mod. this amp come with software to adjust the EQ and let me really tune my system in. very happy with this amp. I had a huge dip at 55 Hz and was able to bring a ton of it back by going into the amp and tuning it there. I attached a picture of that amp software and the result of the readings I took when I was tuning. The amp is controling the sub which is 80 Hz and under.

Very clean sound at max volume
Great amp, love the dsp function. Very clean sound compared to an 10 year old 120Watt per channel Sony reciever. Like others I did have to replace the "turbo" fan. The stock fan maxes out at 4000rpm. I only plan on running 8ohm speakers, so my 2400rpm computer fan will do just fine. The only other thing I noticed was the amp would pop the speakers when shutting it off. Sometimes it is quite loud, but not enough to hurt my PR15.. I even contacted Behringer support about this and in less than an hour, I had a replay stating this is normal for this amp.

Little to no support for product. Only usable for DJ's etc.
Purchased for a passive subwoofer in a home theater. Fan is insanely loud for this application. I received two amps from amazon first one dead out of the box.. second would not work in bridged mode. Behringer will not answer the tech support line 9/10 times...They did respond after leaving a message; I tried multiple days to get through. This amp may work for some people... If you would like a usable manual or tech support.. I would look elsewhere.

Works like a champ when it works - first one died ...
Works like a champ when it works - first one died 6 months into service (church with school, so used in fixed install PA system maybe 10-20 hours/week. Got the second one with 2 year Square Trade warrantee from Amazon (would have gotten longer if they had it (B&H has 3 years available but its only available with ADH coverage and it's 2X the cost). I've had similar issues with 3 other Behringer EP2500 Amps we have - 2 are going strong after 5 years and one died around year 2. I have the Behringer DCX2496 which cost the same as this yet is only 6 channels of DSP and zero amplifier. The 2 channels of DSP on this do the identical thing as the DCX2496 plus its now USB to your computer vs RS422 serial port which was useless, and you can use a single 4 pole speakon connector to drive your bi-amp setup via a single 4 conductor speaker cable. It sounds great, the fan is not noticeable with my 3 other amps fans running, very light weight (compared to 50 lbs for the EP2500) - like I started this review, "works like a champ when it works". I would have given it 5 stars if not for the reliability issues.

I was sceptical but now am pleased
Behringer does not have a good record for quality, but I've had no problems with this thing. Ive need using this for about a year now as a guitar amplifier. I'm running it into a Mesa 4x12 and it is WAY louder then I need it. I have all the headroom in the world and couldn't be happier with this product.

Full of great surprises - top notch!
I have been involved with acoustics since 1979 and have more recently used the old EP series amps on the road for years which were great workhorses - I like Behringer! I'm currently playing around with a speaker design and needed an amp with DSP capability so the (rather crassly named) Inuke amps fit the bill. Power was not an issue at this stage so the NU1000DSP was perfect - but so very cheap that I wasn't really expecting too much. Initial impressions are of a somewhat tacky appearance but solid-feeling controls and a very good but small display which, as it turned out, is perfectly adequate. (There is the option to control via USB on a latptop or PC with a very good graphical interface). The ludicrously low weight did not inspire confidence to my old school 'heavier is better' thinking but my back will thank me when I have a rack full of them... On powering up, the fan noise is audible and irrelevant in PA situations but could be intrusive if used in very low ambient noise home applications. It's not the 'jet engine' roar some would have buyers believe. Driving a very expensive Beyma TPL150H tweeter (£360.00) and a B&C 18PZB100 bass driver (£227.00) in biamp mode, I expected the amp to be utterly outclassed by what it was driving. The crossover and powerful parametric EQ setup were quickly implemented from the front panel and I had sound. Big surprise! Not a hint of compression in the bass, and no harshness at all at the top. I will not wax lyrical like a hifi reviewer, but suffice to say the amplifier is without harshness and posseses a real sense of dynamics - it was quite at home driving speakers many times its own cost. This is a very, very good sounding amp and is astoundingly good value. All my reservations regarding its ability and sound have been shattered, and it runs stone cold at all my testing levels. Time alone will answer the remaining question which is reliability. I have no hesitation in recommending this amplifier as a well-featured, solidly built and very fine sounding product and look forward to filling my rack with several more, which I would probably have to spray black so folks didn't laugh at them!
