Sturdy and true to size
I started using these furnace filters after prices nearly doubled on the brand had been using over the years. Although these are cheaper in cost i feel more confident that these filters are doing a much better job than the other name brand I was using. These filters are strong and pleated v we ry well. They do not bend at all when installing. Some furnaces are tough to get the filters into and will cause the filters to bend or crease in one of the corners...well not these! I have noticed a significant difference in dust in my home which has been a problem living in a new subdivision that still has tons of construction going on. I like that these come in a box that you can keep extras stored in keeps them safe from contamination. Overall these are amazing filters and will absolutely not let you down. True to size and filtration. Just buy them.

Good value filter, comparable to 3M MPR 1900 Filtrete
The filter seems to have a filtering performance of an MERV-13 (comparable to 3M filter with MPR of 1900, unable to reach quality of a MPR 2200). However, packaging is below expectation. Although the product I bought is a multi-pack, each filter still needs to be individually wrapped to ensure the same performance when the filters are used at a later time 3, 6, 9 months from date of purchase.Update after 50 Days of Use (July 5, 2020)When you read the product packaging of most Home Use Filters, it states that the filter could last up to 90 days. Here I am on Day 50 after the date of install and, oh my goodness, I could not believe in the power of this air filter. It looks so dirty with all dust and human hair after just 50 days of use. And this DOES NOT MEAN THAT THIS FILTER IS NOT LONG LASTING. It actually works so well that it captures this huge amount of dust and human hair in just 50 days (air conditioning has been on most of the days). Removing the dirty filter, I inspected the area behind the filter. I used my finger and swiped on the floor of the furnace, being made of metal, and guess what, my finger was virtually clean. No dust or hair has been able to pass the filter onto the furnace duct area.Over the past 50 days, I, as an allergy sufferer, I did not experience symptoms of allergy like red and itchy eyes and runny/sneezing nose, and I must thank to the performance results of this filter.Originally, I gave this product a 4-Star only, not a full 5-Star. This was because I bought a 5-Pk and each filter is not individually wrapped. With this superior performance of the filter, I have decided to up the rating to 4.6 star, which is rounded up to a 5-Star.

Good filters, made in USA
I normally use Filtrete 1500 filters. However, I have several returns that are 14x14, and the Filtrete gets rather expensive, as these smaller filters are the same price as larger ones. These aerostar filters seem to be excellent, with one small exception. As noted in the description, their size is 13-3/4 square, rather than the filtrate 13-13/16 square. The small difference in my returns is that the Filtrete fits tightly to the top of the outer cage, whereas the Aerostar is loose in the cage. More difficulty closing the cage, and a slight "bump" in the night when the furnace kicks on, and the Aerostar filter flies to the top of the cage. They do seal, they simply make a sound before they do. This might not be the case for all 14" cages. I am satisfied with these filters that are Merv 13, USA made, and considerably less expensive than the 3M Filtrete.I don't fully know how to evaluate the pressure drop across the filter. It's not clear that the total material area (including pleats) is as great as the Filtrete. However, the pressure drop is not only dependent on the area, but also on the material used for the filter. Regrettably, no one that I've seen publishes a pressure drop versus air velocity (which is easy to measure). The pressure drop is important both for the current draw (and thus temperature) of the furnace fan, and for making sure that, during A/C times, all the Freon evaporates at the air handler, rather than letting liquid Freon enter the compressor, where it removes bearing oil.

Flimsy and not marked
It's flimsy compared to alternatives. MERV value not marked on filters. Filter medium does not look impressive. Probably won't order again. On the plus side, they fit OK so they were easy to put in.

Excellent Value and Performance
This product is really great, folks. The filtration of allergens is top-notch and you can feel the difference in the air. The efficiency of the filter is impressive, too. Plus, it fits perfectly with my furnace due to its size compatibility. Not to mention, it's cost-effective. I'm more than satisfied with my purchase!
