Add serious function to your device
I received this product for free in exchange for my fair and honest review. So, I bought my girlfriend a Dell tablet for her birthday. She's a digital illustrator and she needs a pen display to work on, and her old one is... very, very very old. So I replaced it this year and she loves the new one. However, the thing I got her (a Dell Latitude 7285) didn't come with the keyboard part of the computer. She has a nice Bluetooth keyboard and mouse though, so, no problem. Except, the tablet doesn't have any input/output save for the two USB-C ports and a combo headphone/mic. And one of the USB-C ports really needs to be used for the charger. So she can't use a flash drive, SD card, webcam, etc because that's all stuff on the keyboard part of the computer which didn't come with the part I bought. Bummer. But, since I'm a bigshot, I picked this up when I got the opportunity and it works PERFECTLY. It literally solves all the problems she had with her new toy, because now she has all the functionality of a laptop but with the portability of an iPad. She can stream with her webcam, she can plug in a second monitor to keep her streaming stats on, she can grab her files off the old computer using a flash drive, and (super cool) she can plug in an ethernet cable instead of relying on the Wi-Fi. Her device doesn't quite pick up the full gigabit speed we have at the house, but it's WAY better than the Wi-Fi speed she was getting, so she's all set. I've never seen her happier, and that means I'm happy. I didn't actually expect the ethernet thing to work, I didn't realize it would actually function that way, so that was a cool surprise to me.It's even got this nice little protective bag to store/transport it in, and it's not made of some cheap plastic. It's sturdy, it's got full functionality that her device can't perform otherwise, and it's not even expensive. Hands down, if your USB-C device is missing a function you need, this is the gadget you need, especially if you have a similar situation to ours where you're trying to create a mobile work solution using a tablet-style device.

Super inconsistent!
I bought this because, unbeknownst to me, the new Macbook Pros (2019) only have USB-C ports. The world has not moved away from USB at all, so I don't know what would compel them to make this decision, but regardless. Here I am.I needed something so I could use flash drives and my Seagate backup drive like any other human being. I loved that this had so many other ports, too! My old Mac (RIP) had everything. USB, SD card reader, HDMI, the works. I loved that thing so much. So when I saw this, and that it had every single connective port I could ever ask for, I was floored! I could have it all again, in one convenient package, too! However. If I plugged anything into the RCA Adaptor first, then into my Mac, it had an error message that said something along the lines of it pulling too much power out of my computer, or needing more power than my computer can give. If I plugged the RCA adaptor in first, then whatever tool I was trying to connect, it was a 50-50 chance that I would have success or problems. Sometimes moving which port I plugged into helped. Most of the time, it was a headache I didn't want to deal with.I ended up buying these: https://www.amazon.com/Syntech-Adapter-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B07CVX3516/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Syntech+USB+C+to+USB+Adapter+%282+Pack%29%2C+Thunderbolt+3+to+USB+3.0+Adapter+Compatible+with+MacBook&qid=1587138506&sr=8-1I highly recommend the Syntech USB adapters! They work with zero issues and feel very sturdy and well-made, unlike this one. Much as I would love to have all my dongles in one place, I don't think that's going to happen for me.

Very portable and perfect for my laptop !
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Whether you take your laptop everywhere or always leave it in the house, you want to have the best docking station possible when your machine is sitting on your desk, especially if you don't have enough ports in it from manufacture. With a laptop docking station such as this one, you can attach your system to multiple monitors and a wide variety of peripherals with extra USB ports. The RCA USB-C HUB is very portable and was perfect to use with my laptop. I also LOVE the velvet pouch included with it, which allows me to store it in my backpack without to worry about this HUB being scratched/damaged while rubbing against other items inside the bag. It’s powerful enough to leave at your desk full-time as a docking station but small enough to slip in your laptop bag and use on the go. Its horizontal design packed with all the port I needed (and then some!), makes this purchase a perfect one. And I will definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a great quality laptop HUB.

Can do some seriously bad things to your LAN
After many trouble-shooting headaches I finally narrowed the evil device on my network that likes to respond to all ARP requests: this USB-C adapter! If I unplug this adapter from my laptop, but leave it powered-on and plugged into my LAN (Ethernet network), it will corrupt all ARP requests on the network, bringing the entire LAN subnet to his knees until it's either unplugged from the power source or the network! BEWARE!Otherwise, its a fine USB hub/adapter.

Works well, but with minor issues
Connecting Samsung USB C power supply to chromebook gave 15V 1.3A output through hub but 15V 2A without hub. Connecting Power Delivery USB C power supply gave 15V 2.3A output through hub and 2.6A without the hub. Samsung power supply output listed as 15V 2A, 9V 3A, 5V 3A which are the same specs as Power Delivery, but the hub does not treat it as such.Connecting to HDMI monitor works. Connecting with HDMI to DVI adapter needs power input to hub through USB C port. As I only have one HDMI to DVI adapter and only this USB C hub, I am not sure if this is an issue with the adapter or the hub.Update: I realize if I attach then HDMI cable to the DVI adapter, monitor, and hub first then attach the hub then to the Chromebook, it recognizes the monitor without USB C power being supplied. Not sure why, but it is a workaround.

USB ports stopped working soon, under very light use.
I don't feel I've given his hub a hard time. I've had it for a few months, and I put it in-line between my USB-C power source and laptop. I've never used the network port or the SD card ports, and only once used the HDMI port. I sometimes plug-in my phones to charge though the regular USB ports. Both of those failed the other day at the same time, leaving me in difficulties.I've ordered another at around half the price that looked identical but with a different name on it. I'll return this one for exchange... clearly these devices are too unreliable to use without a spare!

Great little hub for my Macbook Air
Having recently bought a 2020 Macbook Air I needed a port replicator/hub/dock to provide connections to my USB devices, network (WiFi is great, but wired will always beat it and when you have full fibre you want all that bandwidth!) but also passthrough charging after all the Mac only has 2 Thunderbolt/USB-C ports so the normal charger would take one and one for a USB device.Everything works as expected, multiple USB-A devices, memory card access, network which runs at 1Gbps and of course the all important passthrough. It does everything I needed, plus the colour and metal design fit in really well with the design of the Mac.Just something to note, passthrough power is provided by your existing charger as this doesn’t come with power.

HDMI sound issues with Catalina, otherwise perfect
The hub looks great and comes with a decent-quality pouch. It has a solid-feeling build quality and does everything it is supposed to, providing your computer with gigabit ethernet, 2x USB 3, SD card and HDMI ports.However... I found that on my original unit, with my 2019 Macbook Pro running MacOS Catalina, all connected TVs over HDMI were using the DP2HDMI1520 (DisplayPort) adapter, and there was no sound through the TV over HDMI. I tested (without success) using 3 or 4 different TVs, and also 3 or 4 different HDMI cables, all of which worked fine with an older Macbook with built-in HDMI port. I contacted RCA support directly by email, and they were very responsive, sending me a replacement hub which I have managed to get working perfectly on my main TV. Whether this was a fault with the original unit, or another manifestation of one of the many HDMI grievances with MacOS Catalina, I cannot say, but I am just happy that I now have sound over HDMI (once MacOS had correctly discerned the correct audio adapter for my TV - "Samsung" instead of "DP2HDMI1520").In summary: a great, quality-built multi-purpose hub (when it works). And finally, much respect for RCA's attentive support and excellent customer service, which has left me with a positive conclusion to what might have been an unhappy experience.

Fantastic
I wanted a single dongle that I can carry around easily that has all the ports I need. This little hub is perfect and meets all my requirements. Using a single USB-C port from my laptop, I am able to display my laptop onto an external monitor via HDMI. I am also able to connect it to various USB-A AND charge my laptop - all of this through a single USB-C!The product is a space grey colour and matches my laptop nicely. It looks expensive for what it's worth. It hasn't let me down yet and works exactly as expected. It also comes with a little pouch which protects the hub when transporting it around.

Disappointing - won't power laptop
I have a high power USB-C power supply that I use with my laptop - but when using it through this hub, I get the 'low power charger connected' message popping up in Windows, very disappointing! For the record, I regularly use the same PSU with another USB-C hub without issue - but I need an ethernet port, hence buying this one - unfortunately it'll have to be returned as it's not fit for purpose if it can't charge my laptop whilst using it, the hunt continues.
