I bought this for my 7 year old, who has shown interest in learning to play the piano. I thought that this might help him learn more easily while we see if the interest sticks long enough to invest in lessons. I love that the print is large, and I especially love that every note has it's letter printed inside of it. We also bought the stickers that go on the piano keys that have the letters of each note, so between this book and the stickers, he's able to "read" the music easily. When he got it on Christmas morning, he started playing Silent Night right away, and felt proud of his accomplishment, which has encouraged him to play more. It has a good selection of children's songs, and he likes many of them. I wish they would make one with some simplified classical pieces as well, or popular rock songs. At his age, he's growing out of nursery rhyme songs, so I'm not sure how many of the songs he's actually going to want to learn. But it's a good starting point.

The songs were recognizable songs for both the children and teacher. This book not only had the letters but also integrated them into the musical notes. It’s an excellent way to integrate the methods of teaching from the beginning stage and different methods that come up later on.

I wanted something my 10 year old could follow and not get frustrated. this does the trick. I would say this would be a nice Easter basket gift.

I like it , it is good for day care and toddlers.I give 4 starts because the book delate.

This is definitely for beginners songs are for kids to teach them how to play piano songs but I’m the one using it and once I continue to learn to play simple music then I can continue to step up to the next level , any feed back on other piano songs for an older person to learn the basic music songs that never played piano ever? Any suggestions will be appreciated it will make my search easier.

I am not a musician, so sorry for lack of the right terms. Any way, I was wanting simple songs to play for my toddler on an old keyboard we have. I was hoping for songs with simple notes for the left hand as well. This book only has notes for the right hand. I do like that it is very clear and easy to read and if you have the cheat stickers on your keyboard it’s even easier. I love the variety of songs, just wished, like I said earlier it had notes for both hands. Overall I’m still happy with this purchase and we are having fun playing the songs.

I recently bought an organ and wanted to teach my grandkids to play it. This book really sped up the process. My grandkids learned to play these songs in "record time."

You definitely need background knowledge about playing the piano to use this book. If you’re looking for a true beginner book this isn’t it. The songs are cute though if you have prior knowledge. Songs are only for one hand

Noch keine Sorge um die linke Hand. Sicher, wenn Sie die Akkorde spielen können, sind sie da, aber der Schüler kann einfach lesen und spielen lernen, indem er seine Finger zu den Noten bewegt.Dieses Buch ist nichts für absolute Anfänger. Sie müssen wissen: Welche Noten sind welche auf dem Klavier und die Unterschiede zwischen den Längen der Noten. Sie können diese Dinge leicht lernen, indem Sie sich ein YouTube-Video ansehen, es gibt viele zu diesem Thema. Ich werde auf jeden Fall andere in der Reihe bekommen.my son wasn't doing well with piano lessons, he needed songs he knew not just exercises, teaching him at home was proving difficult but I came across this book and I chose it because I liked the layout. I like the fact that you see the notes AND the note names, this is very good for starting out. I also like the fact the whole book is about getting the right hand right. No worrying about the left hand yet. Sure, if you can play the chords are there but the student can simply learn to read and play by moving their fingers to the notes.This book is not for complete beginners. You will need to know: Which notes are which on the piano and the differences between the lengths of the notes. You can easily learn these things from watching a YouTube video, there are many on the subject. Once you know this it's simply a case of putting your fingers on the right notes and making sure you play the correct note with the correct finger.The only slight thing with this book is I don't think they put the songs in order of difficulty, Mary has a little lamb is first, that's good as it doesn't require any hand movement but then the next song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and that requires quite a few whereas Skip to my Lou only requires one. It could be that they did this as Skip to my Lou has quavers in it but I think that's an easier concept to learn than moving the hand up and down, Skip to my Lou comes AFTER the can can which requires playing a full scale! However this is no big deal as you can easily look through the book and find pieces that suit your needs.Since getting this book my son has shown much more interest in playing the piano and music in general which is wonderful. He feels happy to be playing music he knows and is progressing well. I recommend this book highly for any student who wants to get on with learning to play the instrument without wishing to get bogged down with music theory. It's very good for a student to learn the keys and what they are but to begin with getting some stickers is helpful, I put two scales on ours and then just marked the Cs and no black notes. As you become confident take out certain letters until you no longer need them.I think this book is brilliant and deserves its five stars. I will most definitely getting others in the series.

The kids love this book! Super fun songs to learn. Some are easy and some are slightly challenging. My kids really enjoying playing our keyboard now that they have this song book. Thank you so much! A request for any future books would be how to label your keyboard with the proper Letter song notes. I googled and found my answer to this but if it was included in the book that would be a bonus!

Christmas present for my eldest daughter to go with her new keyboard/piano (also purchased on Amazon) delivery was fast, book is lovely and good quality.
