Quality handles, like the smart key feature. I have these in several buildings, they do on occasion have a problem but Baldwin customer service and warranty are excellent, no questions they just mail you the part needed.

I installed and returned 2 locks of the same type and style by other well known brands because I was not satisfied with the fit and feel. In both cases the installation was slightly tricky and revealed the cheapness inherent in these nice looking locks. I read up on the Baldwin Tobin and decided to purchase it as I believed the fit and finish would be superior than the other two. I was not wrong....this is a very nice product with great weight, finish, and feel. Do yourself a favor...stop the search and purchase this lock. Additionally the price is great as it is going for about $20 more elsewhere. I have this lock installed on my fire rated door between my house and my garage.

Everything Baldwin is pretty top notch IMHO, this item is no exception. For 10 years now I have 14 of these lock-sets around my house, three of which are super close to my pool. If you didn't know, being close to a pool sets you up for corrosion problems. The finish stands up to that harsh environment perfectly. It gets some corrosion/oxidation deposits when close to the pool but they come off easily. I'm not into cleaning so I let it go for a long time and have no problems making them look brand new after a quick cleaning. I I have tried a different cheaper lock set and the finish couldn't handle the salt/chlorine environment. If you are looking for a secure and permanent lock set solution, this is the ticket. Another benefit from Baldwin is that this model is the same exact lock set I bought 10 years ago. Some companies can't wait for their product to fail so you buy a new model or end up replacing them all so they match the new design. Not Baldwin. I needed one replacement after an attempted break in that this lock stopped. Thief drove a screwdriver into the key opening but lock still did it's job. The noise from the banging he was forced to do set off the alarm. Only his laundry man knows how scared he was.

It took 2 shipments because Amazon loss control felt it necessary to restock a returned item.As for the 2nd it was fine. For the DIYer not experienced with lever systems, the outside handle is tightened from the opposite side. There is a reason the Allen key doesn’t fit the set screw. To be clear insert the Allen key through the inside hole to access the Allen head.Enjoy your new handle.Larry H

Be sure to fully tighten both set screws that mount the levers to the mechanism before attempting to engage the lock. Recently, my thumb-lock button (at interior side) stopped rotating. By re-tightening the exterior set screw the problem was solved. Just remember that the set screw on the outside is set deep within the handle, so you will need to extend the allen wrench fully into the mechanism to engage it.

I was quite happy compared to the other common competitor which I have used for decades. I will buy this companies locks in the future.

I really like Baldwin locks, but this one is a bust. It was apparently a returned item, because the lock does not operate properly and the Allen wrench was missing. The key gets stuck in the lock and the inside knob will not move.I received this lock after previously installing quite a few Balwin locks without issues. I've installed lots of lock sets and know how to do it. This lock set is second, reject or just a defective product that should never have been sold.I can't return it because I'm past the return date due to we were in the middle of moving into a new home. Today was the first chance to install the door lock set.WARMING!!Open your products right away and make they are serviceable. Second, install the product as soon as you can. Get a return and make sure your complete a review to let others know the good and the bad. This seller is selling junk and getting away with it.
