Art Plates - Van Gogh: Mulberry Tree Switch Plate - Double Toggle

There was a time when all switch plates were a bigger size - now they are much smaller. If you want a bigger one that covers more space, you have to look for the word "OVERSIZE" in the description! I want to do my kitchen with Van Gogh artwork for all the outlet and switch plates, but I want different paintings for each one. So far, I've only found TWO outlet plates described as "OVERSIZE" and I need six. This is distressing - I didn't know until I bought this Van Gogh Mulberry Tree that they make these smaller now, charging more for the ones they call oversize, that used to be the norm. *sigh* As far as the artwork goes, this is very nice. It's metal, not plastic. It just gets expensive when you want to replace quite a few plates and they are $12 - $14 EACH. Another *sigh*.

I replaced a corroded bathroom switch plate with this after using other Art Plates in high-traffic rooms. This is NOT a plate with a paper coating; the image is directly on the metal and whatever over coating is used seems durable. In contrast, I replaced “brushed nickel” plates that lost their luster after everyday use wore off the coating.The color is true to the vibrant Van Gogh painting, and the matching screws fade into the background.The only drawback to this plate is that it is somewhat shorter than my previous plate, which meant I had to fill in indentations and touch up the paint where the previous dug into the wall.

looks great, seems to have a good finish on it, i accidentally hit it with the screw driver a few times installing it and didn't damage the paint at all. Fit really well on a standard outlet too. its worth the $.

This hangs in our master bathroom; and I think the "Mulberry Tree" design has *just*enough blue to coordinate with the wall color; and *just* enough of the orange and yellow to make an interesting contrast. Which, IMHO, is the point of having artwork on the walls. And it's small, interesting touch vs. a big painting or print, both of which could be impractical in a bathroom.

Really nice on a light yellow wall. Be careful installing so you don't scratch up the painted screws.
