Works well
This worked perfect to slow down my room fan

Great quality!
This is a great control for the fan on our wood stove. Our old controller made the fan noise very loud but this one seems to cause the motor to run very quiet and cooler. Great quality product!

Works with fans but not so great with concrete vibrating motors
It was bought for a 30 Watt concrete vibration motor, which does lots of other things requiring mixing, sifting or shaking but the Motor Speed Controller did nothing at all in variable mode but turns it off and on. I doubt for the price of the motor it was brushless. This had the advantage of plugging the motor into the controller rather than wiring into my existing controller the controller that works with the motor. It does control a fan quite well although the course fan's three position switch works just as it is. A little disappointing and I can see other uses going forward.Definitely a keeper for another project.

Works perfectly with my Ceramic Heater!
I bought this item to adjust the amount of heat that is dispersed through my heater and for that, it works well! One big caveat is that it won't work on just any heater. This will NOT work on a heater that uses Brushless Fan.The particular heater fan I'm using is a Citus B07JBP4J1N which uses a 12v DC fan much like a PC fan.You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JBP4J1N/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_GY22DbYQXYZG0Also, the higher the variable nob is set, the hotter the plate on the back gets! With a 1000 watt ceramic heater plugged in with the nob turned all the way up, the back thick metal plate went past 150°F. I'm not sure what the max temperature is on this TRIAC but I didn't want to test it and burn itself out so I stopped the test! If you need it that high then you probably don't need this device, anyway!FYI, this works by chopping the AC cycles down to half the cycle of a full AC cycle. This WILL NOT lower the voltage or current! Do not use this on any electronics as it could damage it or greatly lessen the life of your electronics!

Speed controller worked for a sump pump!
i'm using a sump pump to pump cold pool water thru a DIY solar heater that i made out of 200 feet of black garden hose. the pump itself is too powerful. it would pump the water too fast and it didn't heat up through the garden hose. i purchased this to control the speed and it did. i was able to slow down the pump. there's a minimum threshold of how low you can crank down the power before the sump pump doesn't work at all. this worked out fine for my project and i did touch the unit and power cord and it wasn't hot.. maybe warm to the touch sometimes but it runs for 10 hours a day.

Didn't work for slow starting a generator.
Was hoping I could use this to slow start a fan being used from a generator but ramping of the load using this product didn't work as expected. *Note the blower easily runs off the generator once running but the load on fan start up is too much for the generator.

Great item until it broke right after return date closed
Bought this item on May 2nd and today June 3rd. I used it with a rigid shop vac which worked perfect for a month then today the item started to spark and I quickly went to pull the plug and it separated on itself. The plastic part was melted to the plug. Hazardous if not careful, luckily it was plugged into a surge protector so I was able to just hit the switch when the item separated. Looks like the cable broke off the pcb that is holding it in place and started to short.

Lasted thousands of hours
I just bought another one to replace the exact same model. I've used it for thousands of hours, effectively, before it burned out.I can't ask for more than that. Plug it in, turn the knob. It's just that easy.
