Quicksilver Nemesis 4-Blade Aluminum Propeller - For Mercury and MerCruiser Engines

Nemesis 4 blade 14” x 19” pitch
Make sure you get the hub kit for this prop sold separately!I own a 2001 Bayliner Capri 2150, a 3,000 lb 21 foot boat bow rider with a 5.0 L MerCruiser Alpha One stern drive with a 1.62 gear ratio lower unit.We like to take the kids tubing, so acceleration is important to me. I was currently running a quicksilver black diamond aluminum 15.5 inch three blade prop with a 19 inch pitch. We would typically load the boat with a 35 gallon tank of gas, 3 adults with 3 kids, food, cooler, and gear coming in with the gross weight of appoximately 4,361 lbs. When I was pulling a 3 person tube the bow would come up real high and take a minute to get on the plane. The boat would want to plane at about 23 miles an hour but my tube riders liked it closer to 20 miles an hour so i had to keep adjusting throttle to balance speed. My top speed was around 46 miles an hour.I switched to the nemesis 14“ x 19“ pitch 4 blade prop. Took it out today, and I was immediately satisfied with how it shot out of the hole! The acceleration felt good. It quickly climbed to top speed of 42 mph at 4.200 rpm when trimmed perfect. I backed it down and could maintain plane as low 16 mph! The bite the prop has gives me way more control and traction though the entire throttle only giving up 4 mph of top speed compared to the 3 blade prop. The recommended wide open throttle of my engine is 4,500 to 5,000 rpm max. So I feel like if I had a lighter load I may get that range, but today I was running a 4,000 lb gross weight with people and gear included. My max rpm was 4,200 rpm at 42 mph.Overall I’m super happy with the performance of this prop, definitely worth the upgrade! I hope this review helps.

Exceeded My Expectations
I have an Alumacraft Classic tiller boat (open 16' boat/flat floor) with a 60HP Honda O/B on it. The factory 13 pitch 3 blade prop got the rig up on plane fine but the prop "blew out" even on slight turns with very little trim. I had no idea what my top end speed and RPM were with this prop as the factory gauges are a joke.. I have subsequently upgraded my boat with NMEA2K bus so I can obtain accurate engine info from the Lowrance MFD's onboard. A 13 pitch Nemesis yielded about 29 MPH and nearly 6400 RPM!!! The Honda redlines at 6000 RPM. So I went to the 15P Nemeisis. Now I'm at 32MPH and 6100RPM with a fairly light load. I'd go to a 16P Nemesis if I could but Merc doesn't make one. The boat corners with no prop blow out and handles like it's on rails It will plane at about 21MPH and hole shot is good. I love this prop!!!

Fantastic prop for the price
Perfect prop for my boat. 2700lb 18.5' Sea Ray with a Merc 4.3L V6 Alpha One Gen 2. 4700rpm WOT @ 46mph. Planes instantly and hole shot is amazing. I lost 2 mph vs a 3 blade stainless prop of the same diameter and pitch, but that prop was barely able to get on plane with more than 4 people onboard, and this one also picked up fuel economy at cruising speeds.

Gets the job done.
This prop isn't anything fancy. But, I put it on my 1999 maxum sr8 and it runs smooth.

Nice fit on Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha One Gen 2,
Fairly easy installation on a 2008 Bayliner 175, Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha One Gen 2 engine - if you are replacing an OEM 3-blade prop, you'll likely need to purchase the QuickSilver Flo-Torq II hub kit which is another $50+. Chances are you won't have the correct hub unless you already have a prop with a Flo-Torq II hub installed.Otherwise, the QuickSilver Nemesis 4-blade prop will help your boat break plane faster. More lower-end torque and your top speed should see an improvement as well.

Hub kit install super easy and boat is faster!
The hub kit install is so simple and diagram to follow is provided. My 17.5 maxxum powered by a tiny 4 cylinder chev/Merc out drive picked an easy 5 five mph! I kept the same pitch as the old 3 blade I removed. Also, cavitation and vibration improved

I love this propeller perfect
I have 21’ maxam with a 250hp inboard with the alpha 1 out drive perfect. hole shot great on plane in a split second. Perfect take off with a full load and tubingskiing

If your thinking about it, do it!
My 25hp mercury always seemed like it wasn’t operating at its full potential and made getting on plane loaded a chore. I heard good things about the 4 blade props but was leery to spend the money. One day on the water I had to make a sharp turn to avoid a crazy jet skier and ended up banging up my prop on some submerged rocks. Since my prop needed replacement anyways I figure nows the time!Boy am I glad I did! Feels like a new boat. Much more holeshot and even gained top speed (went with a bit more aggressive pitch based on the prop selector tool) and getting on plane is a breeze even loaded down with tackle and two big guys.Worth every penny. If your thinking about it, do it. I’d recommend using mercury’s prop selector tool (google it) to find the right pitch for your goals.

Great prop
Never tried a 4 blade before. I have always run a 19 pitch 3 blade on my boat. Switched to a 17 Pitch 4 blade and I’m very happy. The hole shot is fast with very little bow lift. The top speed is about the same. The boat seems to ride higher in the water at the back creating a muck smaller wake. It will stay on plane at a much slower speed too. I am very impressed.

Not a new prop, most likely a refurbished
Really excited to try this prop, very disappointed when it arrived. It had a small little nick out of one ear that made me suspicious that the deal was too good to be true. I’ve had it on my motor for a couple weeks now, the paint has already came off in the same place on all 4 ears. Makes me think that it is not factory paint. Also the motor sounds different, I had a black max prop on before, at first I thought it was just differences in prop styles but now I’m thinking that it is out of balance also.If you want a genuine prop, considerpaying a bit more to get something you are sure to be genuine.

No Compromise ***EXCEPT on the Paint!***
UPDATE: After 3 months of use I'm still very happy with the performance of these props, but I'm unhappy with the paint. Both have paint peeling, one severely, revealing abysmal surface prep underneath. Loss of one star. I did see a massive improvement in fuel economy (10L per hour!) but I'm not sure how much I can attribute this to the props as I also rebuilt the carburetors. I'm not going back to the 3 blades to verify!Just as the manufacturer claims these props delivered identical top speed performance as the 3 blade Black Max units they replace at the same size and pitch (14x19). They also deliver impressive hole shot power and low speed handling, which were my motivation in buying them. Time will tell if there additional fuel savings. My application is on an 8000 lb boat (loaded) with twin 5.7 Alphas. I am very happy with them.

Works well
It works well on my Regal 2150 LSC with a Modified 4.3 EFI (250HP). I get around 52MPH with this prop with 2 people on board (well, almost 3 since i'm 300lbs) and fully loaded of gear and fuel. Very pleased. Goes to plane with 7 people on board in about 15-20 seconds, which is reasonable. Goes to plane with 2 people on board in 3-4 seconds.
