Rodent ridder!
Nocturnal creatures (skunks) aren’t fans of the light. Rather than cover our yard in vapor lights like a pro baseball diamond, we chose these lights to thread just beneath our decks. They make for a pretty, low key glow we can leave on day and night. And guess what? No more skunks!!!

They dim after a while
We have had these up for about a year and a half and they have been great. We use them outdoors and they hold up to the beach air and rain. About 6 months ago we noticed they were dimming, and now they no longer light up the deck. For the price, I was surprised they lasted as long as they did. We will be buying these again

a little brighter than I expected
These lights are excellent. They serve many purposes. My cats like to be out in the Catio at night and I can see where they are. The lights illuminate the entire back yard making it easy to see the deer, fox, coyotes or any possible intruder as they walk through the back yard. The lights keep the skunks and/or any other unwanted night time critters away. I connected the lights to a timer set dusk to dawn, they are easy to connect, put up and just plug in.

Hardware that it comes with doesn't work well.
The lights themselves seem to be a great buy. My daughter bought them for her room, and when she switched to fairy lights decided to gift them to her brother.Hanging them up in her room was a giant pain because of the screws and hooks it comes with. The plastic hooks are horrible. When I went to hang them in my son's room, the hooks were completely unusable. They didn't hold on to the rope whatsoever. It kept falling down, sections at a time. At first I tried to fix it by continuing to hang up the fallen sections, but new sections always fell. Kinda like a too small fitted sheet. It was never going to work.I went and bought some command hooks and they are SO much easier to install and work great. I don't know why command hooks can't go in with this company and just ship it all out to begin with.

These will not install themselves but at least they come on the handy reel
Many years ago I bought a hot tub to install in the deck of my first house. The experience created a desire to purchase another one when I moved into my new house some 20+ years ago. Unlike the first house, which was in a somewhat rural area and not proximal to neighbors, my current house is in a suburban subdivision. Naturally, I wanted some degree of privacy when using it because I don't really interact with my neighbors and don't want the obligation of having to wave to them from the tub should they pass by. This necessitated the erection of a privacy fence around the concrete pad I had to have poured to hold the tub. Now, my eyesight isn't great and since I often use the tub in the morning hours when it's still dark, I could easily trip or stumble if I didn't have some kind of light source. This is maybe the 3rd iteration of rope lights I bought over time to hang around the interior of the privacy fence so I don't trip and break something. To that end, it's ideal. However, I am lazy when it comes to outdoor projects and I still have to actually hang the brackets off the fence, which is still very much on my honey do list. Fortunately, the lights come on this handy reel so I can still plug it in and get the light I need until my wife gets so irritated with the situation that she either hangs them up herself or makes me do it. As a bonus, somebody told me a long time ago that red lights won't impact your night vision as much as other colors so I don't trip trying to get back into the house through the garage (which has no rope lights).

Now this is disappointing.
I bought 6 of “50ft 360 LED Waterproof Rope Lights,110V Connectable Indoor Outdoor Led Rope Lights for Deck, Patio, Pool, Backyard, Camping, Indoor Bedroom, Landscape Lighting and Christmas Tree Decorations (Warm White)” — when they were $37.99 each. This was about 24 months ago, in late September 2022.I used them 10 times over those 24 months for events and entertainment like Cub Scout Pinewood Derbies and business award shows. I always coiled them back up into nice, big loops that would fit around my waist if I tried, and they traveled in a duffle. They always worked. Cared for them well. No hassle, no worries.Well, I went to use them last weekend after letting them sit unused for four months. Out of nowhere, three strands were completely dead, and two had dead sections. Only one of the six was problem-free.Looking closely at one of them, I can see where the main power wire is snapped where it’s molded into the tube wall. In fact, I can flex the tube and watch the wire move back and forth, and the lights come on when it makes contact.I won’t need them for a while, so I’m going to leave them in their nice big coils in their duffel bag until I’m preparing for my next event. Then, I’ll attempt to repair them. I worry, though, that my time spent trying to band-aid them together has a greater value than giving up and buying replacements. And that, fellow Amazon shoppers, is how they get you, am I right?
