Works but messy. Need to mask off area.
Works but messy. Need to mask off area. I read many reviews and yet disregarded basis rule of masking off area. I replaced a broken rear glass my 98 dodge ram.I read many reviews, viewed many windshield replace reviews. I was installing this glass outside in my yard. Got caught up in the impending weather situation and forgot to mask off glass and truck. When messing w sealant, one small dot turns into one big mess. Hint. Buy a can or two of BrakeKleen to remove any sealant mess then, work to remove brakekleen residue afterwards. Also, a must is many pairs of throw away gloves will be needed. Again, this turns in to a mess very quickly of setup is not correct before opening sealant.1. Mask off areas, glass and body and prepare is the most important part of this. Frog tape is best for least tape residue. 2. Have gloves. 3. Use heat gun to warm the sealant. You WILL NOT be able to push sealant w/out warming it up first. It is thick like cement when at room temp.. 4. Have very sturdy sealant gun. Try to have more than one gun as my first one broke as I was using it. It would of been a huge waste if I did not have another sealant gun. 5. Cut tip in a V shape. When applying sealant to glass, have sealant perpendicular to glass so sealant lays in a triangle. This is a must so there are no gaps. 6. Have lots of throw away rags. 6. Have a place ready to throw waste away as the waste quickly becomes a mess wherever you throw it. 7. Even if the tube says primerless, YOU NEED primer. 8. You have one shot w primer and sealant. 9. I forgot to add this .. have some type of plastic or wooden utensils to correct any application errors. Using fingers makes a mess quickly. Finally, watch as many videos as you are able in order to prepare. Good luck

Works well but yeah heat it up to make dispensing easier.
Used this product to put new regulator clips on new glass for my car. As others suggested I used my heat gun to heat up the tube and a really good caulk gun, this stuff is thick. I let it sit until firm to the touch then installed window in car and didn't lower the window for a few days so far so good

HEED MY REVIEW!
I have been using urethane for years, I'm not a glass guy (that's what its designed for), but in body shop, where we use it for all types of automotive glass or some structural adhesive. Now, you HAVE to have some items prior to using this product...1-Solvent resistant rubber gloves. Get a box of 50 or 100 or better yet 200. You're gonna need a bunch if you need to clean up a mess.2-Lacquer thinner, not paint thinner- those are two different things. Go to an automotive store & ask for auto body lacquer thinner. You'll need thinner to do some cleanup. Quart or a gallon should do just fine. If you need more than that, you have some major cleaning issues going on. EDIT... Don't use lacquer thinner on your paint or anything that you cant use solvent on, as there may be paint lifting issues or issues with the finish.3-Air powered caulk gun. This stuff is really hard to get out of the tube especially if its cold, which brings me to number four.4-Some type of heat source, like a oven. Don't go into your wife's kitchen & stick it in the oven. If it leaks, you're sleeping on the couch for the next month or buying a new oven. If you have a friend with an old oven in his garage or something like that. Get it warmed up for a while, maybe 1/2 hour or so. This is a guess, but maybe 100 degrees or so should make it pliable. Keep an eye on it when its by the heat source.5-Throw away rags. This stuff is messy, listen to me! ***I SAID MESSY!*** When you have to clean this up, its gonna be a mess. Take your time & be prepared & you'll do just fine.6-When using, do not-I repeat, DO NOT push down on the tip, as if the threads pull out you're pretty much done unless which brings me to number 7.7-Get extra tips. They screw on/off & can easily throw them away. If you plan on saving the remainder for future use, you'll need extra tips. Don't try to clean the old ones, throw them away. The left over urethane will probably last a couple of months once opened, depending on how well you sealed up the end.8-Mask off areas you don't want to get any urethane on. See number five.9-Warm day. This stuff takes time to cure. Don't rush it & allow the correct time to pass before doing anything.10-Time. Make sure you have time to do the job correctly, cleanly & professionally. When you follow the above suggestions, this stuff works great for a lot of projects other than automotive glass.Good luck!

Sticky as heck
OMG it was a challenge to work with, BUT it worked! Stuck so quick it ripped off my plastic gloves and had to remove what got on my hands with acetone. It saved my back window in my convertible from leaking. I figured I would try diy before paying $$$$$$ to a pro. I couldn’t use my chalk gun because it was so thick. That’s why it got so messy for me. I watched many videos before.

U428 repairs cracked rooftop cargo carriers (Thule, Yakima, etc.)
I have a Thule roof top cargo carrier that cracked. I looked online and many people were using fiberglass repair kits that did not work. Even the folks at REI were clueless as how to fix a Thule cargo carrier.I called an engineer friend of mine who uses U428 to fix anything plastic or rubber. I bought 1 tube this. It's hard to get out of the tube. You have to work real hard at pushing it out with a caulking gun. After squeezing sufficient U428 out of the tube, I applied it with a piece of cardboard on the cracked areas. It's held strong for 18 months! I think you could bond people together with this stuff. It's like super glue.I found a few cracks that I missed on the first repair was unable to break through the nozzle. I drilled through it and the goop still would not come out. I cut a hole in the middle of the tube and scooped out the U428 with a stick and applied it the cracks. I smoothed it out with cardboard. It sticks to everything. Don't use a putty knife or anything that you like to keep clean. The tubes are probably one time use only unless you plan on cutting open the middle of the tube like I did. My Swiss Army knife blade still has remains of black goop as proof this stuff works! This is amazing. Worth the money!
