Tesla's Attic (The Accelerati Trilogy, 1) Review: can't wait - I found this book to be quit compelling. Neal Shusterman managed to pull me into his story with a change from the usual 'teenagers' portrayal. most young adults in this genre are portrayed as clumsy adolescents who miraculously bumble through their misadventure, dance around, and whoop about how they outwitted the evil villains. the characters were fascinating and, several times, i caught myself thinking right along with them. this book shows that just because they're kids, does not automatically make them deer caught in the headlights. the story shows them to be scared, but quite resourceful and inventive when it comes down to their own survival. it does not, however, make them out to be super heroes or geniuses. they're normal kids. i am eagerly awaiting the sequel. Review: Speechless - Oh my god, that is a AWESOME book. I read it for my school's book club. It's a little disturbing, so not really a third grade and under book, not a read aloud book for your kids at bed time. It has a couple of swears, not to bad. And a little romance. It's mostly fascinating and interesting. I'm a nine year old girl so I like the spice of everything, the romance, adventure, a little comedy. I'm in fifth grade, so I like the mix. I highly recommend it. Also, please right in your comments who your crush is. Thank you.

Great Series!!!
I am using this trilogy for homeschooling. My 8th grade son loves Nikola Tesla. These books have led us down so many interesting roads. We have learned about the competition between Tesla and Edison, mortuary science, sewage treatment, Charles Fort and the paranormal, and much more. Thank you for an entertaining and educational read!

Great mystery for science nerds and pun lovers
I bought this book as a book club purchase for my son. I, being a bibliophile, had to read it first. I have to admit, I love Shusterman anyway, but I really wanted to read his foray into YA literature. I really enjoyed it--particularly loved the puns and biting little science jokes (Heisenberg!). Unlike other reviewers, I did enjoy the character development. I look forward to seeing more unfold with additional books. Readability for this book is 4th and higher, but understanding is 6th on up. HS teachers, this would book would be perfect for recalcitrant readers in remedial or credit recovery courses--especially if they enjoy science.

About right for a 10 year old
Not a bad read although it seemed written for elementary school age children Being a Fan Of Tesla`s inventions I could not pass it up. This story line written for an adult would have been much better reading

Not my favorite, but not the worse
this is a tough one. Did I enjoy the book, yes. would I go and tell someone they had to get it and read it, no. Part if it may be that I absolutely LOVED the unwind series. This is just so different. I knew it was. different type if story when I bough it an the concept intrigued me. Teams and his inventions and. secret society- sounded interesting. BUT- as I read, there wasn't. single character that I could identify with. there was no one that I particularly cared for. they just didn't call out to me, like the characters from Unwind. they were just people, not someone who I had to find out what happened to them. with that said, the book is an easy read. one day in th beach and I was done. it was easy to follow and had the little true scientific background that made it an interesting read, just not. great read

Humorous realistic fantasy. I highly recommend it.
Tesla's Attic was required reading for a committee I was on to approve books for the Jordan School District. I was quickly drawn in to the cast of characters and the humoristic narration of this realistic fantasy. I highly recommend this book to middle graders, although my teenager also gobbled the book up in a day.
