Good product and does it's job very well
The motor is really well constructed and mounting it on my Nexstar Evolution 9.25 was very easy. The most important thing to do after installing it is to calibrate it. After that it is very easy to use and it takes away all the tedious shaky focus issue when done manually. The only thing that I may complain is that when using the Hand Controller, the Focuser with it's two options of Move to and Move In/Out is buried deep in the Menu. Everytime after you access that menu, if you need to move the main telescope motor then you have to exit out and use the arrow buttons and then once again go through the Focuser menu. Also, why does Celestron not let us use the up and down arrow keys at the center that are used to move the main motor for using the focus motor as well?Overall very happy with the product and it is helping me focus easily on objects. If I note down the focus location after once focussing on a particular object (planet in my case), I find it so easy to punch in the same numbers and the Focuser motor very faithfully brings that object in focus. No guess work!

Love this accessory! Connect it properly to get full use!
I was a little hesitant to buy this as I was afraid it was a lot to pay for a luxury, but it's been totally worth it and has definitely increased the fun of observing through my scope (6SE). The range and fine focusing are incredible. I also like how it's recognized and usable with Celestron's CPWI and other software programs. I think it's brilliant that it only has three speeds; offering 10 or 100 speeds may sound impressive, but the three are perfectly spaced apart and get you in the barn quickly. It's not a complaint but it would be even better if it had a way to simply decouple it for a manual override, but that's just a suggestion.**NOTE: It has several ports and bridge capability. if you want to be able to use it at the hand controller as well as through CPWI (especially helpful during CPWI alignment), connect the focuser to the aux port and then connect to your PC via the USB port *on the focuser*, NOT on the hand controller. I had been connecting my scope to my laptop through the hand controller, which renders the hand controller unusable, and made alignment a pain, if I had forgotten to refocus with my alignment eyepiece. Then I found out that the focuser had bridge capability and I could focus on my laptop AND at my scope - game changer!

Works to some degree with Celestron SKYPORTAL APP
Yes it works, a little tricky to mount and it is a little clucky with the Celestron App "SKYPORTAL". Celestron needs to improve the SKYPORTAL App to work with this Focus Motor !

No problems, works great
Installation was a breeze on my 8SE. The kit had everything that was required to install the focus motor. In operation, it is quiet, and the position counter remembers where the correct focus point is between sessions. My software recognized the device as a focus motor almost immediately when attached to a laptop, but the hand controller button sequence is going to take some work to use. Overall a great upgrade.

Had to return the first motor. The usual, inadequate documentation. Overpriced.
Got my dream scope for Christmas, an 11" CPC-D with every option. I bought ALL Celestron-brand parts to ensure compatibility - down to the Celestron power cable splitter. Obviously overpriced BUT I expected superior quality. The first motor seized right out of the box. Second motor appears to function perfectly, responds to HC as expected. Celestron has very poor return policy UNLESS it's Amazon. I even bought the overpriced Celestron 5A power supply JUST in case. With all the accessories on (overpriced WIFI dongle, overpriced StarSense), using GOTO, phone connection kept dropping. Used an amp clamp to find the problem and decided to connect up my own 1000W power supply to the scope. No problems now. Absolutely minimalist engineering. Before you jump on me, I built my own 4" Edmund reflector as a kid, and have decent fabrication abilities. I consider myself reasonably handy. I LOVE the Celestron optics, am disappointed with mechanical engineering, dismayed at Celestron documentation and find the soft/firm ware primitive. Mr. Hale was kind enough to respond to my complaints. But there's no commercial incentive for Celestron to change. Just make sure you buy Celestron somewhere with a generous return policy. Now if I could just find a new wedge other than Celestron, easy enough to drill and weld 1/4" aluminum flat stock for my lat, I suppose.

Celestron Focus Motor
Just like a lot of their products Celestron does an excellent job. I'm using it on my Nexstar 6SE. Installation I thought would be rather complex, but surprisingly it is not. I reviewed the instructions, but found it to be simplar to use YouTube videos. Once the installation is complete the easiest way to check it is to do a calibration through the handset. For me the focus motor is a must have, as there is too much vibration when trying to focus manually.

Excellent motor drive to get exact focus on planets and sun
I have a sturdy mount but touching the focus knob causes vibrations that prevent a really good focus. This device plugs into the telescope and lets me use the hand control to focus without the vibration. Now I'm getting really good focus on Jupiter, Saturn and Sun spots.
