I rolled my ankle playing tennis over a year ago. It was a grade 2 sprain and didn't require surgery. I'm still healing and this brace has been a godsend to get me comfortably back on the court and playing aggressively without worrying about my ankle. It is sturdy, holds you in and is low profile, so It fits in my tennis shoes easily. I have a very narrow foot and small ankles and the XS/SM fits perfect. I can really tighten it down and the velcro straps are very secure.

Daughter has been using these for about 4years. We have tried many different kinds and brands. These fit best and are easy on and off. They last about one season and need to be replaced. However no injuries since we started using them.

I prob have ordered and returned 10 ankle supports for my soccer playing daughter. She is prone to ankle injury and this is the first brace I have found that she feels fit comfortably enough in her cleats while giving her enough support. She is a size 8-8.5 women’s and I ordered her a xsmall/small.

This brace fits great! I wear a 8.5-9.0 ladies shoe and bought a XS/S. My foot is still slightly swollen had ligament surgery to reattach to my ankle about 7 weeks ago. Using crutches partial weight. The neoprene is a little tight but the compression helps. Wear in a 9.5 Hoka Gaviota 5 Shoe. Had purchased Med Spec ASO Ankle Stabilizer in both S and M but they were far more bulky and my heel didn't fit correctly in the hole. Note my daughter who wears size 5.5 ladies tried on my XS/S McDavid and it was too big. So happy, 3rd time the charm!

I had great hope as this was so well reviewed. Yet I found it to have little/no ability to stabilize. I do have smaller ankles, but I did order the smallest size. As such, it was uncomfortable at the base of the brace/mid-instep region. This one I ranked as the least stabilizing of all the braces I tried….aside from the sad neoprene thing issued by my doc. To each his own. I also had thought it had a lateral stay/insert, but apparently that is just a firmer inner and outer fabric. Not enough for me. And expensive for what offers.

These braces (I use two) support my ankles that have essentially collapsed due to bone on bone arthritis. While my athletic days are long gone, at least these braces help reduce my discomfort and allow me to walk around. The Phantom ankle brace is almost as good as actually taping my ankle, without the skin irritation and inconveniences associated with taping. The key to this brace is that there are no straps that cross over the ankle, like many other braces, which put excessive pressure on the ankle bones. While these braces are much less bulky than others, they still take up a bit of room in the shoe so if you are deciding on one size or the next half size up, go larger!

After my son sprained his ankle, when he got better but not fully recovered he did little practices with this ankle brace. Soccer is very tough on the ankle, and this helped him be able to play while still not getting injured even more, or putting too much pressure on it. The brace was very high quality and the straps held in place very very well. However I did feel it was rather bulky, and it took a good 3 minutes to get the brace into soccer cleats. Did help a ton to getting him back into soccer, would highly recommend!!

I broke both sides of my ankle, fibula and sprained my left ankle. I needed a good brace after the boot I was in, and this did the trick! I can walk again, and it keeps my foot and ankle secure. One thing for me is, I need heel support, so I put in a dr schol's heel gel, and it works perfectly for me! I would say though, I have a small foot, 6.5 and narrow and I don't think the small size would fit anyone with a much bigger foot. Not sure if this item is returnable. Just an FYI
