An easy to read System
I was looking for a simple system to get a clear picture of my money. Where is it? How much do I have? Where am I ‘throwing’ away money? How should I keep track of my Income and Expenses! This is THE book I’ve needed. I’m 79. You should get this book!

Excellent!
Very informative and filled with practical information to help build a good budget. Great suggestions to help curtail spending - many of which I plan to implement.

Definitely will utilize some of these techniques to improve my budget. I like the grids and ideas of where to find the money you don't know that you have. I also.like the debt reduction grid. I was not a fan of the examples that made the book so wordy.

A Good Starting Point
This book is good for anyone who has no idea where or even how to get started on a budget.

Good for budget newbies needing friendly help
For someone new to budgeting, this book will hold your hand as you budget, understand bank accounts, and basically begin really managing your finances for the first time ever. For someone like myself, who has been budgeting a while (albeit imperfectly), this did not manage to touch on any great new points or streamline my system. This is not a bad book. It's just also not great. It's part chatty, part instruction. For those that want to dig straight in to the meat of it = this is NOT your book. Not because there's no meat, but rather you won't enjoy sifting through the personal stories and the "Ha ha, am I right?" to get to it.Pros: She does guide you through the process start to finish, explaining why she does things. She implements a technique I've just started doing recently (pre-read) and find helpful.Cons: Throughout the book there is an example budget from a real life client. When looking for ways to save money, the example shows this person lowering their LOAN payments. I did not find anywhere in the book where the reasoning for that was addressed. If you need to establish some emergency funds, etc, then that would make sense. But it is dumb to keep your loans at minimum payments and just keep paying interest on them if you have the funds to do otherwise. Please note: I purchased this as a Kindle ebook download. I think it is more difficult to follow along with than if you had a paper version sitting in front of you. My recommendation to readers is to spring for the paperback version. This is more workbook than an advice read. My recommendation to the author would be to include a download key or something in the purchase, to accommodate easy download access to all the forms you provide.**Edited Feb 2nd, 2015**The author has made me aware that she has downloadable forms on her website. Happy budgeting all!

Get your money right!
I came across The Budgetnista on Twitter. I started following and reading her blog.I originally purchased the book on Kindle because I'm impatient and wanted to dive right in and get the 411. Two chapters and a few days later-- I'm not big on "electronic" reading--I purchased a hard copy of the book.I re-read the first few chapters then skipped from chapter to chapter. Again, blame it on lack of patience as well as curiosity LOL The Budgetnista had my attention and I wanted to know all she had to say.I read and re-read chapters and focused on some for a week. I had to get my mind right. Inventory my expenses. I also created the forms in an electronic version so I could just pop in the information and refer back to when necessary. This book, The One Week Budget, that I now refer to as the Budget Bible has me re-evaluating expenses as well as making better decisions. Anytime people start talking about saving money etc, I bring up The Budgetnista. I'm a live commericial for the book. I've even shared blank copies of my electronic form. That's how I inspired an associate to purchase the book. They were impressed on how detailed but simple the forms were. AND I wasn't giving up my book! This is not the type of book you pass around. This is a book you keep, highlight, bend pages and refer back to.I'm still work in progress--letting unnecessary expenses go(Cable TV), however, with the help of The Budgetnista, I'm getting my finances right!

I don’t recommend it
I’m guessing that this book could be useful to someone who has no idea whatsoever on how to make a budget. However, if like me you were hoping to find tricks or words of wisdom to help you find the discipline to respect your budget don’t waste your money.

I highly recommend it for anyone who has a habit of robbing ...
I read about this book in either Allure or Real Simple magazine, and purchased it right away. The process is simple, and has seriously improved my personal budget and has eliminated the budgeting stress.I highly recommend it for anyone who has a habit of robbing Peter to pay Paul, and who has any credit card debt.
