Very handy book
Great for people setting up a DIY audio lab. Explains all of the major instruments and what they are used for. Probably the only book of its kind available.

Very helpful book for amateur amp builders.
Like other reviewers, I read this book from cover to cover.Very helpful and easy to understand. If you want to keep going on amp building, have to buy this one.Of course you have to buy more rigs for measuring, but it is valuable for your fundamental.Just make your own bench for electronic lab, and enjoy.

A thorough discussion of audio test equipment and the theory behind it
I read this book from cover to cover. As an already experienced (but not "expert") electronics enthusiast, I found lots to learn in the author's detailed discussion of different types of test equipment (mulitmeters, oscillocopes, signal generators, etc.). While the author promises the book to be fairly accessible to "entry level" electronics enthusiasts, the prose is actually quite dense and the author sometimes leaps into technical jargon without seemingly remembering his initial promise to keep things simple. I'm well beyond entry-level, but I sometimes had to reread or read "around" certain topics to fully grasp what the author was on about. I think the book could have done with a slightly more stringent editor with an eye for verbal conciseness and plain English (where appropriate). That being said, this is a book well worth owing.
