SAS Certified Professional Prep Guide: Advanced Programming Using SAS 9.4

Chapter quizzes left a lot to be desired. A brief set of multiple-choice questions at the end of each chapter doesn't really let you practice answering questions with SAS - it's more like "find the missing/incorrect keyword" than actual practice. Additionally, a lot of these questions had typos (even minor typos can be very problematic for a programming problem), duplicate answers, or 2 different answers which give the same result.So you're really paying for the worked examples/ explanations and the more helpful "programming scenarios" at the end of the book (there are only ten of those).Overall, this is helpful as a reference book for the topics covered in the exam, but it doesn't give a lot of helpful practice problems and needs a good editor to review the quizzes.

There are numerous typos throughout that are annoying but can be dealt with. The big issue is that my copy (and likely the entire production run it came from) is missing pages. My copy jumps from page 210 to 215. When using a prep guide like this to prepare for a certification, ALL of the information is needed because all of it will be addressed in some way during the certification exam. It is unacceptable for pages to be missing in a prep guide for SAS that is put out by SAS and costs more than $100.

I’m using this to prepare for my SAS exam. The explanations of concepts are very clear and well-written and I’m learning a lot. However, it’s full of typos, especially the Quizzes! It’s so frustrating because I have to spend extra energy trying to figure out if I’m wrong or the text is wrong. I guess it just means I’ll learn this stuff extra well. Sigh.
