Super easy to use.
I bought this because the cross stitch I was working on was very hard to manage with a smaller scroll. The finished product is 8x18, which is an awkward size. These new scrolls were really easy to use, held my fabric taut, and are very sturdy. Definitely recommend these guys!

So much easier!
This has made cross stitching so much easier and it doesn't stretch out my fabric into weird circles that I have to struggle to iron out. The only negative I have is that the wing nuts are horrible. They do not tighten easily or stay tightened. For an extra $4.99, I replaced them with FA Edmunds Art Craft Sewing Supplies Tension Knobs For Edmunds Frames Set Of 4. Ever since then, it has worked fantastically. They stay nice and tight and are easy to loosen up when I am done stitching. This is so much better than the old style rings. It has got me excited about cross stitching again.

Very Good. Could use a few improvements.
First, I really do like this frame set. The rod length and spanner combinations have been perfect for me. I actually got a second set of frames just so I could have multiple projects running without having to take the frame completely apart. I use these with the lap stand that F.A. Edmunds also makes. There are two areas I would see as problems and need improvement.1 - The set includes wing nuts to tighten down the screws at the corners for the frame and they are difficult to use. This is what you use to keep the scroll rod from moving whilst you're working. I found that it was really difficult to get them tight enough to do this with the wing nuts. I'm a fairly young person with good strength in their hands. If I had trouble I can only imagine what problems someone older than me with weaker fingers would have.F.A. Edmunds sells some big black plastic nobs you can sub in for the wing nuts; I picked up a set as soon as I found them. They make using this frame SO much easier and my fingers are thankful for the change. I'd say the company should seriously consider taking out the wing nuts and just selling the frame kits with the large, easier to use knobs instead.2 - I feel like the corners don't get tight enough on one side. Each scroll rod is sliced down the middle for your material until it's about an inch or so shy from one end. On that end the frame gets nice and tight and the rods never move. On the other end, where there's the split, the rods often move a little meaning I sometimes have to stop and tighten my fabric up again. It was MUCH worse when I was using the wing nuts the set came with. Once I switched out to the black knobs I was able to get the screws tighter and haven't had nearly the same issues.I'd really recommend this set. I've seen similar scroll frame sets in stores like Joann Fabric and this one is a higher quality set by far. Besides swapping out the wing nuts I think you'd be pleased with the set.

Love the product
I purchased this item on April 14, 2017. Love the product, however one of the 9" side bars cracked after using it one time. I called customer service for F.A. Edmunds and they agreed to send a replacement. Very pleased with the service and product.

Disappointed
I ordered these frames to use with a stand my son had gifted me. I liked the idea of various sizes however the wing nuts do not tighten. It seems they are all stripped. In an effort to try to ‘fix’ the wing nut situation I missed my window to return them. So bummed.

Nice, but not quite what I was hoping for.
First off, I will say that this scroll frame set will be extremely useful for my larger projects that would not handle a hoop well, and I do like how it doesn't crease or mark the fabric like a hoop can, but it doesn't hold the fabric as taut as I would like, and the wingnuts are pretty tough to tighten all the way.I wouldn't say the fabric is loose, it just has a lot of "bounce" to it when I work as opposed to the drum-tight hold of a hoop. This isn't a particularly bad thing, but I have an essential tremor that affects my fine motor skills, and the bounciness of the fabric does make it quite a bit harder to stitch in the right place.I will use it for larger cross stitch projects on a lower count aida cloth, but I think I'll put it away and bring out a hoop for smaller, higher count projects.

LOVE THESE SCROLL FRAMES
I am so impressed with these frames. The price was awesome for 3 scroll frames. loved the 3 different sizes too. The quality is great and very easy to put your fabric into them. I expect these to last a long time because of the wood quality. ************
