Powerful & Well Designed-Great Warranty
This is quite a powerful unit and produces a true 45 watts RMS per channel/speaker. Purchased this stereo in mid-March, 2023. Installation instructions were okay, but not the most detailed. I spent about 2.5 hours completing the installation in a 2005 Dodge Dakota quad cab, which went pretty straightforward overall. I needed a separate wire kit to splice into the existing harness and to bypass the stock external amplifier. Bluetooth and microphone for phone calls works great and is very clear. Sony offers a 3-year warranty on this unit. Yes, it was about a hundred bucks more than other Sony car stereos but because of the extra wattage it was well worth it. Comes with a wireless remote control which works well, but I'm not going to use that very much. Function controls are nice but quite involved but once you get used to them it's quite easy to move through. The presets for the internal electronic equalizer are pretty good but you can also customize the equalizer to your preference. Works with satellite stereo and Pandora if you have it. Also comes with a USB-1 port on the front of the radio and a USB-2 connection via cable which I ran under the dash. You can connect to phones via Bluetooth to this unit at the same time. Stereo does a good job of scanning thumb drive which contains mp3s of my music. Note: thumb drive has to be fat 16 or fat 32 for the radio to read it; no big deal when you format it the correct way. The extra BASS button add some pretty good thump through the 6x9s and I don't even have a subwoofer. Color selections are nice and allow for varied colors for the buttons and for the display. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and the warranty makes me smile more. Pretty good price for top of the line and most powerful head unit you can buy right now for a vehicle or a boat.

Outstanding Performance and Quality
I recently purchased the Sony DSX-GS80 car stereo from Amazon as a replacement for my old unit, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The stereo was professionally installed, taking about one hour. The build quality is excellent, with tactile buttons and a dial that turns smoothly with a bit of resistance. My previous stereo emitted a loud humming noise when the headlights were on, but I’m pleased to report that the Sony DSX-GS80 has no such issue. It features a sophisticated system that eliminates any buzzing or humming when music isn’t playing. While I don’t frequently use the extra bass button, it’s a nice feature to have. I have a beefy subwoofer and a 1000W amplifier connected, so I can’t comment on the stereo’s performance without additional amplifiers.I have Infinity speakers connected to the stereo, and they sound fantastic. Phone calls are clear, thanks to the included microphone. The accompanying app is a must-have, offering multiple sound and display settings to tailor the stereo to your vehicle.Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend the Sony DSX-GS80 for anyone looking to upgrade their car audio system.

Great deck with high RMS rating and simple face design
This is the second one of these I've put into classic Porsches. The built in 45 watts per channel (RMS not peak) from the integrated MOFFSET amp delivers plenty of power if driving speakers directly from the deck without additional amps. Has many sound presets or can have the equalizer customized, can make the faceplate different colors to complement the gauge lighting in the car, has BT phone and streaming capability and is a simple and attractive head unit that looks great in classic cars, unlike many with the crazy lighting and big display screens. Installed the first one into an 81 Porsche 928 Euro S where it's driving 2-way component speakers in the front doors and 2-way composites in the rear seats area, and the other is going into an '89 Porsche 944 S2.

Good Radio
I purchases this head unit for my 2006 Peterbilt 379. I upgraded the entire audio system. Here is my system.Sony GS8014 gauge oxygen free copper audio wirePioneer TSA4671F 4x6sPioneer TSA653F 6.5sSound Deadened Cab with 1/4 Foam Layer on top of that. Eliminated 1/2 factory foam insulationThis Head unit powers these speakers very nicely. System sounds AMAZING! Big bonus is this head unit has a color that matches the factory Peterbilt gauges. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but it is a dead on match. It goes through the menu functions and source changes quickly.

Good head unit.
Has good controls , 5v rca outputs, nice built in eq. Sounds great, but having issues using the functions as it’s connected to blue tooth. But the sound options are awesome this head unit can really dial in your system Im pretty impressed overall

Makes for the hub of a simple yet stunning system
I've never expected my car system to approach a high end home listening experience, after all it's in a car. I have supposed, like most things, if one threw enough money at the idea, it would be possible on some level.Upgrading the system in my old vw van I wanted a straightforward simple system that was technologically current and sounded decent. I started with four Focal speakers since I was familiar with the quality of their home gear. For the bottom end an eight inch sub from JL Audio in a custom box, with a nice outboard amp. Additionally the entire van body was treated with two layer sound deadening. This head unit ties the whole system together.Wow. After spending an hour tweaking levels and fine tuning the digital processing I was completely surprised at the taut, transparent and dynamic sound i heard. The GS80 provided a far more focused presentation than the "music from everywhere" soundstage one expects sitting behind the wheel.Pair this unit with quality drivers and one can expect a bit of magic.Ps, I found nothing sheer or thick about it...ha!
