They don't seem as informative as they did in years past. It did have some information that was very helpful to me. I would get another one for my next vehicle.

I needed this manual for a 2013 F150 XLT I am rebuilding.

This manual has, as others have said, the same information (same detail and wording) as the Haynes manual. About the only difference between my copy of the Haynes (2004-2009) is that this edition also covers the newer versions of the V6 and V8 engines. Save your money and look for an older edition of the Haynes manual, especially if you have a 2004-2008 F150. I purchased this so I could leave one copy in the truck for reference on the road and have one copy for office use.

I am never disappointed with these manuals.

The Chilton repair manual provides error code information such as probable cause for the check engine light. And it shows the location of the connector that you need to plug into with your handheld reader.Also there are chapters covering each area of your specific vehicle.

Bought for 2011 F150 w 5L engine. Very little or vague information on r&r engine parts. Need a manual solely dedicated to that truck.

The book is not detailed enough. To much information on rebuilding engine and other stuff is glossed over. Nothing on 4x4. Thats usable. No troubleshooting info. Very disappointed about the 4x4, the main reason I got the book.

Even though they may be published by the same company as the Hayes Manuals, if you can get a Chilton version for your vehicle... DO IT!!

I've always fixed my own vehicles, even rebuilt a number of motors over the years. I've found the "Chilton" manuals to be superior to all other manuals on the market. So I had to have the Chilton manual for the latest vehicle a 2011 F-150 Lariat. It made my life so much easier to work on this vehicle with all it's electronics.
