Whilst the material itself appears to be stronger than most usual haynet material, I couldn't believe how small these haynets were for the price. Unless ur pony was on a strict diet with minimal hay and only needed to last for say a few hours then these are OK, if you are expecting to fill 2 haynets and have them last an equine any longer than a few hours then these won't do. And as horses should never run out of hay even if lamenetic or overweight you should double net normal haynets so it takes them longer to eat, or even mix hay with straw etc to reduce the sugar content not use these that quite frankly aren't even useful for Shetlands, shame really as they look like good quality that would last and be less likely to break because of the horses teeth etc. But don't make the same mistake I did and get the 30 inches as they really are not useable for more than say a horsebox journey that's less than a few hours as I can barely fit half a slice in them.

Sadly disappointing! Material seems robust and waterproof but tie rope is joined at ends by melting with black duct tape over , which after two uses came apart. Found on floor in morning , hay trashed , net filthy and needed restringing with different rope. I bought the 30 ins which seems long enough but when opened totally shrunk! These are very narrow nets with no volume capacity. A nightmare to fill. Might suit a mini or small pony. Would not buy again. Not cheap either.!!!

These hay nets are fantastic - I bought 16 of them!I have four little ponies, and all four of them are greedy good doers. With the recent warm wet weather causing excessive grass growth my feeding regime has become complicated, and it involves quite a bit of soaked hay in various amounts at various times. These hay nets are absolutely doing the trick! They are a pleasure to handle and hook up easily on the hay net filler. The holes are small enough to soak the hay without losing anything, and definitely small enough to make the ponies work for their food in the stable. For ponies the 30in long nets are large enough and I agree with the seller's description that they could hold up to 4.5kg of hay. For horses I would probably rather buy the larger 40in long nets. I like the vibrant colours of the hay nets! The draw strings are sturdy and long. The knot at the end of the string is not particularly tight and could potentially come off. I fixed the knots by melting the plastic over a hot flame. I must admit that I have been doing this with most of the hay nets I have bought in my life.Overall I must say: these hay nets are the best I have ever bought, and the price is excellent. I suspect they will give the ponies many years of good use.
