Good workbook
I got this workbook for my homeschooled 9th grader. It's something she can do independently, and it is educational but not too deep, perfect for those "off" days when nothing is going right or someone doesn't feel well.I usually rely heavily on reviews and photos before purchasing items, but I took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did. If you are considering this, here are some details you may find helpful. There are 10 units. Each unit has a reading passage, followed by a few activities to learn and reinforce the vocabulary being studied. Some of the concepts covered, besides definitions:Context clues; word pairs that have similar parts and meanings; synonyms and antonyms; understanding multiple meanings of words; analogies; figures of speech.Examples of activities:Completing sentences using multiple choice; rewriting sentences using the correct word; crossword puzzles and word searches; writing prompts; using context clues to determine meaning. At the end of the book there are a glossary and an answer key.Overall I'm very pleased with this workbook and look forward to using it in our homeschool.

It’s okay
It’s good for what we needed. Only a few questions for each article.

Great Summer Learning Tool
My son loves this book! Excellent vocabulary booster. My son gets a kick out of the writing exercise that provides a topic and ask to incorporate the words learned in that section. It challenges him.

Good but not challenging
I like this for my daughter who struggles doing grade level work. It works for her but I don’t think it’s challenging enough for a typical 9th grader.
