My macbook pro sierra cant detect the bluetooth. Can you help? Thanks!

I initially thought that, since the blue light was already flashing, it was sending out a detectable Bluetooth signal. I was able to figure out that you need to hold the source button until the blue light starts to flash more rapidly, about 3 times a second. Hope this helps.
