Komputerbay 4GB 2X 2GB DDR2
A while back I was shopping for parts and came across this add for RAM at a low price and naturally Googled it only to find on several forums questions like has anyone used this ? There were only a few reviews on Amazon but they were all favorable so I thought I would give it a try.I am on my fourth and fifth sets of Komputerbay 4GB 2X 2GB DDR2 ram. I have now used this memory on several different motherboards including four Intel media boards one Atom an Asus and ASRock with various combinations of Intel processors P-4s, duals and quad's. I have found it to be a solid reliable product and have not had any issues in any of my projects. I have tested it with various software programs stressed up to 100% for several minutes at a time on both virtual PC's (ram drives) and on M$ systems and have not encountered even one error or event. As far as I am concerned it does the same job as the high dollar brands and I would not hesitate to use it again. This is just a great product at a very good price from a new aspiring company that's trying to give us all a bargain so we can have a few bucks left over to buy more stuff ! I sure hope they do well - maybe some day they will be selling CPU's at a really good price too !Just try it I am sure you will like it too. Thanks Komputerbay for all you do !Don F

Great product, exactly as described and Dell compatible
I filled 4 Dell Precision T3400 workstations with a total of 8 of these kits, maxing each system at 8GB.All sets were exactly as expected. They all passed memtest with no problems and showed proper timing and speed in CPUz. meeting my expectations exactly. As a bonus, they were cheaper and shipped very fast.Note: The picture shows the larger, full height sticks - when in actuality the sticks I received were the smaller, shorter profile sticks. This is A-OK with me, as these aren't anything special looking so the less room they take up, the better!Update: I purchased another pair of these memory sticks for my ECS G31T-M7 motherboard - maxing it out at 4GB. Once again, these sticks did not fail to impress. They are fully compatible and simple to install. I will return again to update this review to update regarding reliability and longevity but so far so good. Same with the ones above from my T3400 systems. 18 months, no problems.

Worked well
Bought this RAM, quite some time ago actually. I bought it to spice up an old office PC I was giving to my father, 512 just wasn't going to cut it for the things he wanted to do.Despite the negative reviews I gave it a shot and it worked great. As with any and all RAM you always run the chance of getting a defective unit, tested or not. I didn't have that issue, both sticks worked fine and the PC registered them both being there.I should note though that not all motherboards can use the full potential of the RAM installed. Case n' point being the PC I installed these in can only use 3.5gigs roughly of these sticks capacity. This of course depends entirely on the motherboard, it just happened to be the case in my instance. That wasn't above the boards capacity as its rated for 4gigs but rather something to do with how DELL utilizes the FSB, essentially creating a bottleneck. Again, not the RAM's fault. This was an unknown company name to me, but the product worked well considering the negative reviews, I personally had no issues. Even received an email from the seller/company asking me if I was satisfied with my purchase. They could've just wanted me to write a positive review for them; but I didn't get that feeling. I think they genuinely wanted to know how I felt about my purchase, a rare thing. Try it yourself for an older machine or don't, personally I've received dead sticks from Crucial, OCZ and other large names, so RAM as always is a crap-shoot. In this instance, I was nicely surprised.

Painless installation, appears to be working well with preexisting RAM
In mid-2009, I built a PC based on a Gigabyte GA-MA785 mainboard, upon which I installed an AMD Athlon II/250 (3.0GHz) Regor processor and two 2GB OCZ DDR2 memory modules. The board was chosen in part because it had four DDR2 slots, each supporting modules up to 4GB, thus allowing me to add up to 8GB in future for a total of up to 12 GB without having to discard the original memory. Four years later, the board and processor were still tooling along perfectly well, but I had upgraded from Vista to Win 7 (shortly before Win 8 was due to replace Win 7,) and wanted to add memory. Alas, DDR2 modules were priced well above DDR3 modules at local computer and electronics stores, and I was not eager to replace the mainboard and processor so that I could spend even more money on upgrading memory. As I had been buying books, DVDs and other non-electronics products from Amazon for some years, it occurred to me that I might as well see what Amazon could do for me in the way of DDR2 modules. Along with the usual higher-than-DDR3 priced products from name brand RAM companies, I found listings for DDR2 modules at near DDR3 prices from Komputerbay. Reading the user reviews carefully, it seemed to me worth while giving the Komputerbay products a try.I am glad that I did. The hardest part of the upgrade was parting the jungle of internal cables to get access to the open memory slots on the mainboard. The modules inserted and seated easily and snugly. Although my innately conservative expectations caused me to leave the case open after the installation, the new RAM was recognized and put to work immediately on starting up the system. It has been working fine with the original OCZ modules for several months now. If it continues to do so for a couple of years without issues, I would be glad to raise my rating of the product to five stars.
