Unfortunately it is assumed that one needs to fully commit and let trusted tops take you further and further.He talks often about finding a trusted top and beware pretenders. He speaks often about respecting and honoring the leather sex rituals and protocols and seems to wax nostalgic for the old guard leather men.This was written in 1994 and updated in 2003 so many references are way out of date and the possibilities for types of relationships have moved beyond those in the book.So, if you want a guide to get yourself into leather sex, this is not it. If you want to see what many terms mean and don't mind be talked down to because you are not committed to a full leather lifestyle, go ahead.

This book is great for beginners in the leather world. It will help with orders and things your would need to know for the life style.

There I was on line looking for a harness when I came across the title Leather Sex and I thought to myself wow this should be hot(leather sex stories... I thought) so I proceeded with the process tpo order and once received I was blown into gag ...wow! Mode. Once I started I was abit confuesed but after about a week of showcaseing to on line friends and not able to give an honest view that was positive I considered giving the book 1more try and to my surprise I was again blown in.to gag mode. This time for realiseing that I knew nothing about this leather world as I have led peole to believe. I've known about leather for 25+ years. I wouldn't have said I was a leatherman or even that I engaged in leather practice, though. Recently, I found myself wanting to know more about leather. I am very happy with this book. It's intelligent, honest, brave, sensitive, and articulate. It's frank and explicit but respectful of boundaries. In short, it's an example of leather practice and a credit to the leather community. The subtitle is accurate. I was a curious outsider. I don't know if I can be a serious player. But the author has helped me understand the nature and role of leather in my life, and I am grateful to him. The information and insight he brokers, and his tone of voice (the book is very well written), are liberating. I want to know more about leather. That's a compliment to any book written for beginners.
