Powerful Problem Solving Tool
This book teaches problem reframing, a powerful problem solving tool that can help you find effective solutions. The author provides specific sub-tools and a process to reframe a problem - thing like bringing in an outsider; applying empathy, for example. He gives the classic example of the elevator problem where the long elevator wait is addressed not by an expensive technological fix, but by a mirror, providing the typical vain office worker with a way to kill time. What I find most motivating from tools like this is the sense of hope they provide, as they give hope that the usual responses of committees, money and technology can be avoided if a problem can be looked at in a different way (reframed).

A great book to help solve any type of issue
One of the best books I've read on problem solving. Whatever the type of issue you're facing, business, personal or societal, this book provides a well-designed methodology to run an in-depth enquiry and reframing process. It will definitely open new perspectives and help you move forward. The author provides many links to external sources for further reading, and also a good dose of humour (I found myself laughing reading parts of the book, something quite rare with business readings).A definitive recommendation for anyone involved in problem-solving, or seeking new ways to respond to various needs (such as a start-up).

Fantastic Book!
We all have problems at home and work. This book provides an insightful and yet easy to use framework to help you frame the issue. Wedell-Wedellsborg shares memorable stories that illustrate his points. One of the key takeaways is to make sure you are actually solving the right problem. All too often we jump into "solution" mode without making sure we are working on the correct issue. Also appreciated the many sites to books and articles on decision-making, psychology and other fields for further exploration.Highly recommend picking up a copy of this book. I promise that you will not be disappointed and that your life will improve significantly afterwords.

Insightful and very practical: build powerful reframing skills you can use in work and life
We all reframe... somewhat. This book walks you through reframing techniques that will change how you tackle problems in your work, and in your life. Suddenly you see opportunities for reframing everywhere. It's about solving the right problems, which is very powerful. Learn to not get sucked into your first idea, but to see the issue at different levels and from different perspectives. The book is easy to read, with just the right level of humour to make it fun without taking away from the content.Highly recommended to... well, everybody.

Training manual for re-thinking things
Great read! An excellent guiding framework to problem-solving beyond outside-the-box thinking. If you find yourself stuck in your business, career, life, etc, perhaps you should reframe your thinking. Rather to focus on the problem (as you see it), look outside of the problem. You may find your answer(s) there.

Great ideas, but easy to bootstrap?
I really like the ideas contained in this book about reframing problems to help find the actual solution. However I think any book that is, in essence, a list of tips is hard to put into practice without... practice. Failing that, in a corporate environment you would need a sort of designated "reframing master" to maintain the process until everyone is used to it and applying reframing naturally. This is perhaps the idea being the printable Reframing Canvas...

A highly recommended book.
Most of us spend a lot of unnecessary time solving a problem without understanding the problem right. Without giving enough due diligence to understanding the problem and framing it right, trying to solve a problem will be a long, drawn-out process. It need not be so. ‘What’s Your Problem?’ turns the traditional and instinctive problem approach and resolution method on its head and provides us with a framework to be able to understand and resolve problems in a far more effective manner. A highly recommended book.

What's your problem?
Top takeaways from reading the book:- Page 4: Problem: An elevator is too slow. Solution: Make the elevator faster. Defining a better problem: Waiting for the elevator is annoying. Solution: Make the wait feel shorter, for example by putting up mirrors, installing sanitizers and/or playing music.- Pages 23, 29 and 33: To define a better problem, ask why the problem is a problem for people. Find details of the problem.- Page 85: Where is the problem not? How can we do more of that?- Page 174: Find more reasons for the problem and be open to the idea that there can be many explanations of the problem.
