No. There are two types of Salonpas: one that contains lidocaine and one that contains menthol. This one contains menthol.

Can I sleep with them?

Yes I sleep with them so that I can get extended relief.

Why so much more than the same quanity of 140 at sam's? (and yes, it is the same % of menthol)

I think it’s just because Sam’s sells them for less. Thanks for the reminder. I’ve bought them from Sam’s before, but it’s been awhile and I forgot about their lower price. I just bought a box of 140 from Amazon for $3.61 more than Sam’s. Next time, I’ll remember. It’s definitely the same product.

Has anybody tried buying the Lidocaine separately and adding it to the patches to save money?

I have purchased lidocaine roll-on which, for me, does not work as well as the patches, but I don’t know how you could add lidocaine to the patches.
