I really am glad I got this book so my kids could learn bigger words and what the prefixes and suffixes mean to help them with other words.

I do not think this book is confusing. I can see how people would think it should be more organized. But I also think it is easy to understand. Great for learning.

Like another reviewer, my daughter asked for this and she really likes the format. However, it could be more thorough, with more words and lessons. Also, the pages for the flash cards are not perforated. So my daughter didn't want me to cut out the flashcards because it messes up the pages. I could have suggested she make the flash cards herself but I went ahead and ordered a second book to cut out from. That's $32 for her to utilize one book. I did this for all 3 of this author's Greek and Latin word books (96.00). Quite frankly, I think he could've combined these 3 of books into one or two and bulked it out with a bit more practices, and I would've felt better about the value.

I told my hubby I wanted to improve my vocabulary, so he recommended I get a book on word roots. I've already read through the first three lessons and I'm very much enjoying it thus far. If you're wanting a better understanding of English words, I highly recommend.

I bought this book for my daughter’s senior year in highschool this coming fall. She’s homeschooled and requested a Latin/Greek book because she’s studying to be a vet tech and she loves etymology. I’m keeping the book because she finds it interesting, however, there are only three pages for each lesson. One page is printed front and back with vocabulary words and the third page is a test. Would have been better to have some writing exercises, perhaps a vocabulary crossword or word search. Maybe some fill in the blank pages. I don’t understand how this can be highschool and college level. But in so many ways I do wonder if I was dropped on my head when I was a small child because so many things don’t make sense anymore.

Twitterで称賛している方がいたので買ってみたものの、特にずば抜けて良いと感じるところはなかった。日本にはもっと優れた語源の参考書があるので、そちらをお勧めしたい。
