More BOOM for your buck!
I have been wanting to add a subwoofer to my system for some time, Well, after looking around I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the Klipsch Synergy Black Label Sub-120 12”. All I can say is I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner!Connection and setup was a snap. I plugged the RCA cable (not supplied) into my receiver and then the rear of the subwoofer. The instructions were clear and made selecting the correct connections easy. I then plugged the power cable into the outlet and proceeded to set up the new addition to my system. The first thing I noticed is the subwoofer power remained off until I applied the power to my receiver. When I did, a small LED in the upper left corner of the subwoofer (visible through the grill cover) came on indicating it was now ready to rock. With both the rear adjustments(volume and low pass adjust) set to approximately 1/3rd the range of travel and haven't had to look back. Any final adjustments that needed to be made I took care of with my receiver. All I can say is Wow! This thing has added a whole new dimension to my TV/Stereo system. This speaker sits directly on my floor (high end vinyl flooring over concrete) and sounds phenomenal. I've listened to everything from classic music to rock, TV shows and Action movies and it adds a whole new dimension to everything with the deep and rich bass. I have always owned and loved Bose speakers and never thought I could improve their sound. Well this device does just that.I love the fact that the range of adjustment on this speaker really lets you dial in the amount of low end that you want or need. I also provides a phasing switch on the rear panel that I tried to change and frankly couldn't notice one phase from the other. It's nice to know if you do need it however it is there. The cabinet and speaker cover look great alongside my other speakers and match almost perfectly.Just a word of warning, this beast is heavy (as I would expect). Likewise if you turn it up, be prepared to knock things off the walls because this speaker is definitely capable of doing it. If you are considering a subwoofer, stop looking and get this one! You won't be sorry!

Tight and clean, hits the deep sweet spot
Tuned correctly this is a proper subwoofer. For the price it hits the lows that ring through your head and tickle your ear drums. Enough bass to fill a room and hear outside the home. Sturdy rubber surround and bass cone, but low excursion so there's distortion at the level that rattles the walls. No hum, okay signal-to-noise ratio. Decent quality. Excellent value considering the built-in amplifier. Large ported cabinet, with big bass comes bigger size. All-around it's ok and really gives the most bang for your buck considering the materials it is better than subs of similar value. Neatly built. Worth the purchase for decently clear and fairly well-rounded sound. It is not a competition subwoofer, but a good work horse that will perform well and steadily for many years. Thanks!

this sub rounded out my "bookshelf" system very well
I have modest needs, so I could have probably picked a smaller sub. This one is excellent.if you're a person who's going to spend $5000 to $10,000 on a home theater system, you're probably looking at more expensive subs. not because this one isn't loud enough, but the snob factor is kicking in at those levels. This is a great sub for adding to a quality pair of bookshelf speakers, or towers. so if your system is going to be an $800 $2,000 system, this is probably a good sub for you.Do yourself a favor though, and your neighbors, if you live in an apartment, or very small house in a tight neighborhood, this sub is not for you. Or any sub of this size.remember that bass frequencies, are quite long, and you won't hear those 100hz and lower frequencies sitting five or six feet from the sub. you need quite a large room, and be located a fairly good distance away from that kind of bass source. For example, I noticed that when I was 25 or more feet away, I could hear/feel ultra low bass perfectly. outside my house, do not ear shattering, the bass is 100% audible and clear. luckily the nearest neighbor is 200 yards away. The adjustable built-in crossover/filter works perfectly to match the sub to your system. This is a plain jane, no frills, larger, high quality budget sub. It will satisfy most people, but probably not audiophiles.

Detailed, nuanced bass, not “boomy” or “muddy”
I bought this as a replacement for an older Polk sub I had that had taken to making random noises and emitting a steady hum from time to time (it was subtle - until you noticed it 😂). The Klipsch sun arrived in perfect, well packaged condition, and I had it set up in minutes - it is indeed a simple setup, connect the LFE cable from my amp, plug the sun j to the outlet, make a few basic adjustments and go!As for performance: I am a bit of an audiophile, but I don’t tend to listen to music through my home theater setup (I have a few vintage systems I use for music), and I’m a bit picky in terms of sound. The first thing I noticed was that the bass was detailed and nuanced - and not at all “boomy” or “muddy” - but more than capable of shaking the house. Any “boomy-ness” I heard only happened where it was intended by the audio engineers involved in the movies/shows I sampled, and was not a result of any inability to produce the proper sound on the part of the sub - and yet was still more detailed and nuanced than any sub I’ve had previously.I’ve only had this for a few days so far, but I am extremely happy with my purchase 9.5/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a good sub. Keep in mind, it’s not exactly small 😊
