Great little home safe, but know the limitations
This is based on just initial impressions as we received this today. It's well built, despite the locking mechanism being plastic. It's heavy and you will need two people or an appliance truck to move it to the room you want to store it in. It slides easily on carpet, so if you plan to place it in a carpeted area, just be aware of that (either it needs to be concealed or bolted to the floor if you're willing to damage your carpet and okay with the risk of water intrusion).Ours arrived locked with the keys inside. The manual has the master code so just put batteries in the battery box and it will unlock. Note the key is NOT an override lock; it only locks the latch mechanism and prevents the keypad from working. You will need the master code and the key in the unlocked position to open the safe. The safe can store a primary user code and a secondary code (two in total). It has LED lights that can illuminate the interior of the safe and can be programmed to be on or off through the keypad. It comes with a drawer shelf that lifts from the top with a decent space to store stuff inside. You can buy an additional shelf on Amazon if you want it. It comes with a desiccant pack that you should NOT throw away unless you plan to use a larger one. I bought some reusable 100 gm packs on Amazon that are microwavable. Do not store stuff in this safe without desiccant to control the humidity or your stuff may get warped, damaged, or rust.Overall, a great little safe for the house but I suspect it won't be hard for a crook to pry open or slide it away if they have the time. We still plan to keep our very valuable stuff in the bank locker, but this is a nice add for a few things that we keep in the house.Know the limitations before you buy. If you need ultimate home security, then look for a solid steel safe that's >200lbs; but it'll cost you an arm and a leg! We are sticking with the bank.

Smart buy
Sadly was inspired to buy this after the LA fires…. Been meaning to for years but finally did. Super heavy but easy to use and secure. Don’t wait until it’s too lates. Not huge but large enough for important papers, jewelry etc

Purchased in 2021 AND HAD A FIRE June 13, 2023
****UPDATE***. ***UPDATE***HERE IS WHAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR...ME TOO.Ok...today was the first day we could get into the home. WE FOUND THE SAFE. As you can see in the picture, the safe is completely burned on the outside. Then safe was also a little warped from the high temperature. Keep in mind that this safe has been sitting inside this house, under fire debris for over 2 months. We had to cut into the safe, as the front of the safe was completely melted. We opened up the safe and to our AMAZEMENT, all of the contents were not terribly damaged from the fire. This fire burned VERY HOT. I posted a picture of the fire-proof envelope we used to put a few hundred dollars into it and the money was still there!!! EVERYTHING DID NOT BURN. Now, there is one little issue...the safe took on water after the fire warped the box and water was able to get into the inside of the safe. It is ok...I WOULD BUY THIS SAFE AGAIN (when I can afford another one). People, do not hesitate in purchasing this safe, I am living proof that this safe can fall 15 feet and survive...can withstand a darn hot fire and survive...can somewhat withstand gallons and gallons of water and survive. BUY IT...I am your example.Rhonda.This review will be updated as soon as we can get into our home.I bought this safe a few years ago and really liked it. I had a little cash and used a fireproof envelope to protect the cash and then put it in the safe. The safe was easy to lock and unlock. Really, I would buy it again...but holding onto that thought until we can locate it.On June 13, 2023, our home burned and it is a total loss. The entire living area fell into the basement, so I am hoping the safe made it ok. I am not sure how hot the fire got, but it destroyed everything in its path. I did not see a review like this one, that's why I am writing this review...to let you know the unthinkable happened to me and I will let you know the outcome. I will update this review ASAP.

Works Great
Only issue is that it shows money and passports, but because it gets "musty" it's not great for paper goods which is a bit confusing since that's what you generally put into a safe. It also states not good for digital media or photos, which again is a disappointment as that is some of the things I was hoping to put into this, but you don't know that until you get the paperwork, which by then is too late since it's a super heavy item. The digital operation is easy to set to the combination you want and easy to use. When the batteries die, there isn't any kind of warning until you go to open it and it doesn't operate, but that's a non-issue if you keep spare batteries, it's a quick changeThe desiccant packet should be replaced frequently as it doesn't keep enough of the moisture down unfortunately.Overall, a strong heavy duty easy to use Fire-safe, but could use improvement in some areas so that it can store a bigger variety of items.
