Applique Patterns

I learned how to applique when I was very young, spending evening after evening with my great grandmother trying to perfect it. My first project was an applique butterfly on my very first purse. This book brings me back in the best kinds of ways. I was overjoyed to see several wonderfully classic patterns that seem timeless. There were also several interesting patterns that I hadn't seen before and that made me excited to try them out.It's been too long since I've last made anything, and this book gave me a push in the right direction.There are very helpful links to the full-size patterns so that you can print and begin right away! Very helpful.I would highly recommend this book to all fans of applique.

I too read the reviews and thought this would be a good book for appliqué patterns. First off, all of the patterns are shown in the book ( less than 1/2 page in size - and the book is only 6 x 9") and so they have to be downloaded from a provided website. While I wasn't expecting this, this was not a problem. The main problem I found with this book was the actual content. There are VERY few appliqué patterns suitable for children's clothing - the reason I was looking for appliqué patterns to begin with. Many are very simplistic holiday patterns, quilt squares and nothing I really considered modern or trendy.

I did not find the content compelling. This book has a collection of mostly out-dated holiday patterns (trees, angels, snowman, poinsettia, folky birdhouses, stars, hearts). I did not think any of them were pretty, current or trendy. The applique have very simple forms and are aimed at the true beginners.For Kindle users the patterns in the book are too small to be useful, but the author provides a web address where the usable patterns came be downloaded.Ali Julia review

If you are looking for a reference book for appliqué that has solid, easy-to-understand techniques, this is the book you are looking for. The explanations and illustrations are clear and straight-forward and fun to create. I am new to sewing and I love that The author covers all the steps from beginning to completion. I love the patterns and there are all sorts of designs, including some fun holiday projects. It has full color pictures, lots of cute ideas for clothing. I am already jazzing up my plain old sweatshirts and tote bags! So if you are interested in tackling an appliqué project, this book is a must-have!

I picked up this book as a freebie and was pleasantly surprised to find quite a number of applique patterns PLUS a website link to each pattern individually. The full-size patterns can be printed out from here. Ms. Koepp gives clear, easily understandable instructions as well as information concerning supplies needed. Pictures of finished projects are included. The assortment of applications is quiet basic...birds, hearts, stars, flowers, snowmen, an angel, and more, which makes this book appropriate for beginners and provides any seamstress with a very good assortment of basic patterns.

Has a lot of applique style of patterns to use in what ever way you would like to try – has a web site where you can get the template for the applique pattern you want to use.

It didn't have what I was looking for and the patterns were very small. I sent it back for a refund.
