Nice Rig - Nice Price
One thing about camera rigs (video or still) is the price. Most seem to be around $400.00 upwards and you still have to buy extras along the way. The reason I chose this was that I had seen it used by a production company during the making of our next movie/DVD. I thought "if its good enough for them then I can sure give it a go". So I bought one. First thing is that while it is cheap the quality is better than I had hoped for. OK it's not anything to get excited over but it is certainly not cheaply made. I used mine this past weekend with a Canon EOS 7D. I moved the handles back towards my face. I moved the camera support also back. After moving the lens (25mm - 15mm) all the way out I added a quarter inch in front and then secured it down. I then set the ISO to 64000. This was by mistake but oh well. I then proceeded to take 157 night shots. Some where very slow but when I downloaded the images I was extremely pleased with how steady I was able to hold the camera using this rig. The double handles make holding the camera a treat.I did not get around to testing it on video. Reason being is that I set the camera so I could use the viewfinder and not the LCD display. It was too close to see that clearly. I am thinking about getting a Zacuto 3x LCD viewfinder but thats another $350.00 so that's going to have to wait.I put my quick release onto the bottom of the rig so I can lock it onto my tripod when not in use as a shoulder rigBut for the price; and having seen it used by professional film makers; and having used it for over 6 hours this past weekend I am very pleased with it. I am very picky when it comes to things looking and feeling cheap/tacky. This has a very nice strong and sold feel about it. One thing is that the shoulder pad is a bit plasticky looking but that is about it. To be honest if that is all I can find to even mention as an item I am not pleased with then I am really struggling to find fault with it.This really is a very nice rig and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to see if shoulder rigs work for them. I plan on upgrading in the future but it won't be soon. This is a great starter rig but could easily be used as your permanent rig.

Good brand, but...
The product is sturdy, well built, handles are stable, fits well with 15mm rails, it's good that you can adjust the measurement to the shoulder of each cameraman, it lacks some weight down to counteract the weight of the camera below especially if you use such a large mattebox or lens heavy. I did not like to send me each piece separately simply packed in a plastic bag each, had paid a few dollars more for a better system of packaging that wrong and very wrong to discontinue selling a piece that can add weight to the support shoulder. Too bad also that some additional parts that are used with this support can not be purchased at amazon or other stores, cavision website is very bad, does not allow e-commerce, they were a decades ago. A good brand with a very poor business management.

An excellent way to have fluid, moving shots.
I rented this rig almost a year ago for a short film project for my french cinema class; after that I immediately fell in love, but did not have enough money to buy one for myself (and renting it over and over would be more expensive over time). So waited and waited and finally I got one.Wow. Excellent form factor. The shoulder mount is my personal favorite camera position. I have a complete, solid grip over the rig and can move around as much as I want, without a bad shake or consequences of traditional raw handheld shooting. The unit itself is made fairly well. I received one with glass fiber 15mm rods, not aluminum, so it is much lighter and just as sturdy. The plastic parts are high quality as well. The whole thing is made very professionally (typical of cavision) and looks way better than all the cheapo consumer level rigs on amazon that were made in response to the dslr video craze. This thing is pro gear all the way. I bet it could probably support a RED body and a small lens if I tried!I highly reccomend this to anyone, especially at 200 dollars, a high quality professional shoulder rig is a MUST have piece for any serious videographer/video artist/dp/etc's gear collection.

Simply amazing!
I am so glad that I bought this product. I had purchased the redrock micro rig before this one. I didn't even know they existed until i saw some of the cavisions being used by a team of professionals. To be honest, i thought these were expensive rigs. I looked on amazon.com for it and was amazed to see the price! Redrock may be better made in god knows what ways, but people never took me seriously when they saw the Lego like spaceship kind of rig in blue. But since I've starting using this i get people asking me which tv channel do i work for...Its Very well made for the price. Im using it for my Canon Xha1S with a dual hotshoe mounted rode mic and litepanels light holder and also the wide angle L lens adapter which all add lots of extra weight.I personally think the shoulder mount can use a plush cover because the abs material can be painful after a while. Other than that, trust me to buy this over redrock or zacuto.
