Doesn’t Work Half of the Time
I recently got a new iPhone, and I realized that I could no longer listen to music in my 2006 RAV4 without some kind of adapter. I also realized, because there is no headphone jack anymore, that I can no longer charge my phone AND listen to music in my car without an adapter (I have an AUX cord instead of Bluetooth). I found adapters that let me use both, and I ordered this one because the reviews were good. I didn’t check before I left on my trip to see if the adapter worked because I have never had an issue with Amazon purchases. I realize this is an error on my part. I plug in my phone and aux cord to the adapter, and I start my music and GPS app with no issues. About 15 minutes later my music pauses. I thought that was weird because I have a car mount so I can see my GPS, and I didn’t touch my phone once I started driving. I press play on my music, and it plays for about a minute then does the same thing. I press play again, and my music plays through the speakers on my phone instead of my car. After about 10 minutes of troubleshooting (while driving because there was nowhere to pull over, mind you) I finally twist the adapter so the aux cord and charging cables twist over each other, and it fixes it. I’m not an electrician, but that sounds like a short in the wiring to me. If that was all that happened, I would give it four stars overall. It was only $12, and if all I have to do is twist it for it to work then I can deal with that. But, sadly, that’s not all that happened. When I went to bed that night I tried to use my adapter to watch some Netflix with headphones in while still being able to charge my phone. Not only did the adapter not work, the only noise coming from my headphones was a horrible, high-pitched and fuzzy squeal. I know it wasn’t my headphones because I just bought them and they worked fine. Needless to say, I’m either going to buy a different adapter or get a Bluetooth transmitter for my car because I can’t deal with this adapter. I would return this, but I threw away the bag with this adapter’s barcode on it.

Must Unlock Your Phone Everytime
I bought this adapter to keep in my car when the bluetooth isn't reliable. It works well to transfer audio from my phone to my car but it won't charge unless I lock my phone and then unlock. If you connect an unlocked phone it will not charge, just audio pass through. It will say "unlock phone to use accessory" but you will get this with almost any adapter not made by apple directly, It is annoying but worth the saving in my opinion. Since I am using the adapter in my car while I drive it can be annoying to be settled in and then have to lock and unlock your phone to charge it so most of the time I don't charge the phone if I don't really need the battery. Also until you start playing music you will get signal interference humming sounds in your car but it does stop if you turn off your radio or start playing music.

Audio output works but microphone input does not
The product images accompanying this product strongly suggest or imply that the integrated mic in earphones and headphones is supported and would work through this adapter - it is not supported and does not work. You cannot make any calls, record voice notes, or play any games using a headset (such as Apple earbuds) attached to this adapter - at least the other party, recording app or game will not be able to hear you. They have carefully worded the product description to avoid mentioning using your headphones with integrated mic for audio input through this adapter "...It allows you to enjoy your favourite music, movies and videos with 3.5 mm jack headphones, Support listening to music and charging at the same time..."Buyer beware.

Phone function doesn't work
I didn't pay attention to the questions about this charger headphone adapter before purchasing. If you want to listen to music this is a great headphone adapter and D to A converter. But the phone functions don't work with this adapter. You can record Voice Memos using that app but you can't hear them play back. There is no audio from the phone through the headphones although I suspect if you called someone they could hear you talk but you couldn't hear them talk. I'm going to keep it because it was cheap and sounds great with music and I can use it for charging when playing music even if I can't answer the phone.

broke within a year
This product was ok at charging and playing music, but the connection from the box to the cord got messed up internally and would not play music properly. I had only used this sparingly and kept it in good condition. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Awesome Deal
One thing that always kills my phone battery is watching videos or movies, or listening to music, especially using internet over wi-fi. So I always have to plug the phone in and having one cord coming off the charging port at the bottom and one cord coming off the top for the headphones is a pain to keep untangled. Seems every time I move one or the other gets disconnected. With this splitter, I can attach my phone right to a portable charger and have the headphone cord connected to the same unit. It's a lot easier to manage the cords that way. I actually stuck the splitter right to the charger (with Velcro tape) and it makes everything even easier to manage. And the sound quality is exactly the same as it is in the headphone port so it's a win-win!

Not a bad product, fore more info read my review
Just got it, no problem with it when listening to music, watching videos, etc. but, when you’re not listening to anything and you still have your headphones in, there’s this annoying (not that annoying) static noise that comes through your headphones especially when you’re typing (like I’m right now). the good thing is, that static noise goes away as soon as you play something in the background like spotify.Overall, it’s not a bad product.
