My son hates anything in his mouth like a toothbrush. He will clamp down weather it's a toothbrush or your finger. This helps because it acts as a bite block and then a toothbrush. Very helpful.

I have an eleven year old autistic daughter who does not like the tooth brushing experience. We've been using the foam covered tongue depressors as bite guards to get the job done, but she's now able to bite clean through those in one session. So I tried the small sized silicon dental bite blocks, but she's able to push them right out with her tongue. When I saw this design with a handle, I said to myself, "Finally! Problem solved." Using the handle, I should be able to hold the bite block in place and brush her teeth with the other hand. I'm not concerned with the attachable brush that comes with this unit, just the ability to use the bite block. Upon receiving the item, I was disappointed as to why the unit isn't entirely made of hard silicon. The side panels are a hard plastic and only the center portion is silicon. My concern here is that while we're brushing with the block in place, it could slip out of place and the hard plastic edges could then damage the soft gum tissue inside her mouth. Since it's a constant battle with her and she really clamps down hard, this has already happened. Since this is our best option at the moment, it's the only thing that works. We just have to be extra careful. My suggestion for further improvement and increased safety would be to make the bite block and handle entirely of silicon. Dump the hard plastic shell and sell a brush separately. There is no need to have a brush at the end of the bite block handle. Great concept though, esp for those of us with autistic kids who do not like the brushing experience.

Still a challenge to get in mouth because so bulky

The bite block side is to keep your mouth open to floss. It’s made getting my kids to brush their teeth much easier.

My son has autism and other disabilities. He hates the entire teeth brushing experience. I bought these bite handles in addition to the kids triple bristle sonic toothbrush in hopes that it would help me be able to prop my son's mouth open while I brushed with the sonic. Unfortunately his mouth is too small to use the bite handle. I am keeping them for when he grows that way I will have them when I need them. The triple bristle brush heads that came with the bite handles were also too big for his mouth as they are not the pediatric size. The brush head that came with his sonic brush is perfect though. It wraps completely around the teeth reducing the amount of movement required to fully clean the teeth and shorten the amount of brushing time. I have no doubt that the heads that attach to the bite handles will do the same thing for those whose mouths are larger and can accommodate the brush head. It would be awesome to see triple bristle come out with this product in pediatric form.

We bought for the bite block- wasn’t sure if we were getting the brush heads. Happy that we got 2 brush heads and 2 bite blocks. Can’t understand how to use both ends at the same time?? We use the bite block and a different longer handled 3 sided tooth brush.

These were purchased for use by an adult with autism and mobility issues. I have had longstanding problems with oral hygiene and this new toothbrush is making a huge difference in allowing me to brush my teeth effectively. Also, because of how much easier it is to brush with this triple sided brush; it helps me feel more comfortable brushing teeth and I am doing so more consistently.

This toothbrush works for my special needs son. I would love to buy another one when it is time to buy a new one.
