Bulb not working
Bulb that came with this otoscope head was too small. It would not light up. I found a bulb at work that fit it better and it worked. So buyers be aware of this issue.

Great scope
Works great for looking into ears. I bought this for family use to keep track of ear infections and monitor ear wax. It's nice to not have to run to the Dr just to check on things. This scope has an adjustable focus (the green line in the pic), so I wear glasses, but I can adjust it to see clearly

Best Otoscope Ever!
I love this otoscope! As an audiologist I have used such a wide variety of Welch Allen otoscopes and this one has always been my favorite! I look in ears everyday so it is important that I can obtain a good view of the TM when visible!

Bulb care tip & missing handle/battery
There was an insert in the package from Booth that suggested using the light for only 10 to 20 seconds at a time, because otherwise the bulbs will burn out quickly. The manual says 2 minutes, followed by 10 minutes off. I wanted to post this as a counterpoint to the people complaining about the bulbs burning out.I must have looked at a dozen otoscopes, because my wife was going through a severe ear infection, and there is a family history of them. I chose this one because of the reviews on the quality, and talked myself into spending far more for it than cheaper brands. Along the way, I missed that the battery/handle is an extra $130. I left it out of the sealed bag after learning that, and am returning it unused. I *think* it is well made, but it isn't worth nearly $300 to have a working otoscope at home.
