Pretty good
I was looking for a book for my kids to read to learn about government, in an unbiased way. At I read through I was very excited, because everything seemed very balanced and factual... Just a few problems I had... Pictures are attached. The book talks about protests and special interest groups... Both of which are leaning to the left (only special interest groups are pro-abortion and anti-gun... What about mixing it up and taking a right and left group?) The protests listed are not described at all, and the 3 most recent are left wing.... What about the right to life March that happens every year? Does it not count as a protest? And lastly. The Democratic-Republican party is not the same as the Democrat party. I would call Andrew Jackson the first Democrat president (since that is when they dropped 'Republican' and they were called the Jacksonian Democrats.Over all pretty even though, I will use it to teach my kids how things work. The format is great, easy to understand, and I think kids will enjoy it more than a text centered book.

Excellent resource
I bought 4 of these. One for me, one for my grandson, and two for my work (an agency providing services to adults with intellectual disabilities.) They are useful to everybody who wants to know how our government works and what parts have what responsibilities.

THESE ARE NOT INFOGRAPHICS...
This book has a few infographics, but for the most part it is a collection of LISTICLES with illustrations. There is no logical flow that ties ideas together. I was hoping to have found text books for a course I teach. I am returning both of them for being a major disapointment. If the author had called it "An Illustrated Guide to..." I would have known not to purchase them. Instead, I believed the title and purchased two separate topics.

EXCELLENT
Excellent book to give a brief overview of government. Well done for kids learning to read on their own or being introduced to government for the first time. Great for older kids as a "cheat list" if they wanted to look something up relatively quick.

Middle School Teacher
I purchased this for a 9 weeks American government course I'm teaching in my middle school classroom. I have found this book to be very practical and easy to understand, while giving students a good visual and helping me as the instructor move through the topics of our government. This book covers the solid basic principals of how our government functions at the federal, state, and local levels; while also giving an overview of our founding, which greatly influenced how our government is organized. It's been perfect for our 9 weeks rotational class.

Excellent book
Very easy and fun book to follow. As a Brit and not knowing much about the US electoral system it was an enjoyable way to find out.
